Our friends @Justlife carried out research into women’s experiences of homelessness in Brighton & Hove. It’s a story of domestic violence, unhealthy relationships, complex feelings around motherhood and lack of basic safety while in temporary accommodation. Let’s talk about why stabilization for trafficking survivors is so important: “Without a safe place to go, an estimated 80% will be revictimized.” source: Office of Victims of Crime & Safe House Project Access to safe, affordable housing can be especially challenging for victims of trafficking. Leaving many victims to face the unimaginable choice of either becoming homeless or returning to their abuser. Covered exists to help survivors forever break the bondage of trafficking. We do this through our trauma informed, empowerment based, and survivor informed program that addresses the four core issues (housing, education, counseling, and community) using evidence-based practices.
