We’re celebrating the GCISD finance team again! On the heels of receiving the Transparency Stars Award from the Texas Comptroller, GCISD’s Financial Services has now received the top rating of A for Superior Achievement in the state’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas. As we close out the summer in GCISD, we have two Stars of GCISD to recognize! Tyler White, a Cyber Security Engineer, was nominated by Jason Brown, a Systems Engineer. Tyler's nomination highlighted how he “works in the background but takes care of making sure the rest of us know about threats to our systems.” His hard work helps keep GCISD safe from cyber threats that would disrupt the district. After celebrating Tyler's recognition, Jason was surprised with his own Star of GCISD award. Although faced with his own challenges, Jason took the time to nominate his coworker, Tyler, and show his appreciation. Because of Jason's hard work and positive attitude, he was also recognized with a Star of GCISD award. We also want to highlight our community partners, Wise Guys Pizzeria and EECU, for sharing the love with our Stars of GCISD. Our Extended Day Program and Early Childhood Development Center employees are such an asset to our district, but because they are caring for our employees' children and our students, they aren't able to attend Convocation with the rest of our staff. To show our appreciation, we partnered with the city of Colleyville to provide $35 gift cards, which can be used at participating restaurants and retail businesses within the city. Thank you to our EDP and ECDC teams! #WeAreGCISD

The best way to start the school year is together! GCISD staff met at Chicken N Pickle to listen to encouraging words and learn how we will work “Together for Tomorrow.” Before everyone was released to test their skills in giant jenga or on the pickleball court, staff learned that every full-time GCISD employee will receive a one-time payment of $500 and every part-time GCISD employee will receive a one-time payment of $250! It was a great way to start the year. #WeAreGCISD
