Happy Thursday LinkedIn. I had a reflecting moment last night while watching Big Brother. They put the contestants through big and scary challenges to test how much they want to win. They are willing to do some of the most embarrassing and crazy things. The biggest thing is the contestants know it is televised. It made me think about the Job Market and how people are scared to make a jump to a new position due to being comfortable where they are or they doubt their ability to do well in another company. To win big you need/want to do something that is uncomfortable to win. Test the waters, challenge yourself, put yourself in an uncomfortable situation. These are things you need to do to make sure you get the job you want or you are striving to get. With that, I have some new roles I am currently working on. ??Senior Clinical Scientist ???- San Diego - Metabolic Disorder experience - Clinical Pharmacology - Reviewing and analyzing clinical trial data. - On-site in San Diego ??Senior Scientist, Mass Spec?? - Washington State - HPLC, LC-MS, Mass Spec - Process Development - High Throughput Screening. ??Director/Sr. Director DMPK and Clinical Pharmacology??- South San Fran - Population PK Modeling - Exposure-response analysis - Drug Development - Clinical Pharmacology If you are a Scientist looking for a new position or a Hiring Manager looking to bring on a new Scientist, please do not hesitate to reach out. ??: [email protected] #Biotech #Scientist #DMPK #MassSpec #ClinicalScientist #Director #SeniorDirector #Science #ProcessDevelopment #ClinicalPharmacology

A New Year and a new vigor to my job search. It can be difficult to stay inspired without the daily 9-5 to put things into perspective, especially in this difficult job market. I am once again reaching out to my contacts for help. This can be anything from giving my pointers on my resume to pointing me in the direction of a hiring manager. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. My most recent work was focused on mRNA pre-clinical sample production and process development. My most extensive past research focused on genetic engineering of B. subtilis to produce small molecule surfactants, and that work entailed everything from literature research, sequence design, molecular biology, microbiology, analytical analysis, fermentation, purification, process development and project management. That being said, I'm the kind of person who likes to be involved in every aspect of a project. I can provide input but I can also take direction. I am willing to start a position at any level and work my way up. I would appreciate any leads to biotech companies in the greater Boston area. #opentowork #biotech #rna #dna #processdevelopment #geneticengineering

Happy Tuesday, folks! Shrishti Singh, Ph.D. here, buzzing back on the page today. Have you ever wondered what scientists in a biotech company do on the pre-clinical end? Or how many of us are needed to develop a drug or biologic? Here’s a breakdown of the key types of scientists in R&D: - Upstream Process Development Scientists: This merry bunch is involved in early product development, identifying target biomarkers and optimizing the drug/biologic. ?Skills: Molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, bioreactor operation, and (of course!) bioengineering. - Formulation Scientists: My favorite bunch and I am working towards joining them (*fingers crossed*). They are responsible for making stable and effective formulations to ensure the final product works well. ?Skills: Chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, bioengineering, and materials science. - Downstream Process Development Scientists: Considered a key part of the development process, downstream folks purify and process the biological product. ?Skills: Biochemistry, chemical engineering, chromatography, filtration techniques, and process engineering. - Bioanalytical Scientists: Give it up for our last set of scientists. They develop and implement assays to ensure the biological product works for pre-clinical applications! ?Skills: Analytical chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, data analysis, and regulatory knowledge. Phew! So many roles but they all are extremely critical for the successful development of a biotech product. #Biotech #R&D #DrugDevelopment #ScienceInAction #CareerInScience
