Mentoring has positive effects on academics, self-confidence, and personal identity. When young people have people in their corner who can guide, encourage, and support them, they feel more empowered to put themselves on a brighter path. Studies have shown that Littles reported feeling better about themselves, having a lot or some confidence they will achieve their goals, believing that going to school and getting a good education is very important, and feeling that they are satisfied with their relationships with friends - all as a result of having a Big mentor.?
