So how does #EquipStarFund Serve those who serve? To begin, I have 35 years in public service in both the military and as a civilian first responder. We have founded #EquipStarFund to be a leading portal for #FirstResponders and #Military members and their #Families to access small group investment normally reserved for the well-connected. These aren’t just clients, they are friends and colleagues from a lifetime of service. We understand what they need because we have experienced it firsthand. Second, our fee structure is heavily backloaded. We don’t realize any significant payment until our customers do and then the distribution schedule heavily favors the client. Third, we are invested beside our clients. We don’t direct clients to projects or developers that we are not personally invested with. We rise and fall together. Fourth, by pooling investments together, our clients get higher preferred returns on private placements than if they invested directly. we can also produce side letters for our larger investors. Veterans Day is around the corner (this coming Monday). I challenge everyone to do more than saying …. “Thank you for your service.” While I know Veterans, like my husband, Ryan Siler appreciate the verbal recognition, this year, I challenge YOU to do 2 things AFTER thanking a Veteran for their service. 1. Ask — “What is something you want civilians to know about why you joined the military and what would you want us to know about the time you served?” 2. Skip your morning or afternoon latte and make a donation to a Veteran Service Organization (VSO) doing meaningful and impactful work in the military community. Through injury and/or illness many veterans have had their lives turned upside down. Not 'just' losing their careers, but what they once knew they were capable of. Re-discovering what you can now achieve after injury and illness can often feel overwhelming and out of reach for many veterans. This is where support, encouragement and a team who 'get it' can make all the difference. Wounded veterans shouldn't be living in the shadows, hiding away, they should feel supported and receive guidance in how they can tackle the challenges that they are now facing, and get back on track to a brighter future.
