There is a pressing need to persuade parents to consider non-traditional programs for their children. It is understandable that many parents prefer their kids to pursue conventional career paths(a safe bet), but it is important to change this mindset in order for students to gain diverse educational experiences and acquire the skills necessary for the complexities of the modern workforce.

"That shows they're smart." A few months back I read an article that compared the different generations in the workforce, and one of the points was that Gen Zers had to watch their parents struggle through the 2008-2009 crisis, and the impact or result is that Gen Zers are the most fiscally responsible generation of the past four generations. It would make sense then that Gen Zers are turning to skilled trades careers as high-demand, high-earning, low-debt options. All I can say is: Bravo, Gen Z... Bravo. #jointhetrades #skilledtrades #tradescareers #genz #careers

This is a great example of commitment to preparing learners for employability: “Our student employees are building valuable skills through campus employment. With the LERs and SmartResume integration, they'll learn to identify and translate these skills, better preparing for post-college employment. Many students experience their first job through campus employment, so building a resume is challenging. Our project will pull in digital #credentials and work they've completed to help them structure a resume — it’s a really big win.” #HigherEducation
???Arizona State University is preparing to launch a skills-based hiring marketplace in September, benefiting both student employees and departments looking to hire students with aligned skills. The project aims to empower student workers and foster economic development through learning and employment records (LERs). They hope to create equal opportunities for all student employees by focusing on skills-first job matching and reducing hiring biases. ASU is committed to lifelong learning, workforce readiness, and collaboration in hiring. Contrary to what you might think... Leaving education is not just accepting the first job offer you get. Leaving education is not about working from home in comfy clothes all day. Leaving education is not about hating the students. Leaving education is about... Putting yourself, your family, and your health first. Building short and long-term career success. Understanding and articulating your value outside of the school building. Likely, improving your financial situation. Most importantly... Leaving education takes time and strategy, it does not happen overnight. #transitioningteachers #careertransition #resumehelp #teachertransition #edxit #teachers #edtech #resumewriter
