Call for participation in newly established APRA Europe Working Group! The APRA Europe Working Group ?Automated Disassembly“, chaired by RWTH Aachen University, focuses on the automation of disassembly processes in?remanufacturing of end-of-life vehicle components. The Working Group will soon kick off and conduct studies and organize networking events and workshops to facilitate networking and exchange between automation and remanufacturing companies and research organizations. For this purpose, companies involved in the automation and remanufacturing of end-of-life vehicle components and their disassembly are invited to participate. When Boston Energy reached out to ARMSA Academy in #Paris in early 2024, we had little idea how seriously it took #skills development and #workforce planning. Since 2012, Boston Energy hasn't only invested ￡3.2m in technician development, spent 2.2m hours supporting their customers across 100+ global projects - this week, it invested in developing the senior team too! The reward for doing well is more work. At the start of my professional career, I was so eager to get my first project done. I looked forward to the commissioning day with some great excitement and enthusiasm. During the course of the project there were many challenges and I literally found myself going extra miles to get the work done, on time and at the required quality. It was a construction project and about 5 months later the fuel station was ready to start trading. Phew - a sigh of relief and victory!!! Back to office in the same week, I was immediately assigned another project which practically looked more problematic than the previous one. Then it dawned on me, the reward for doing one task well is being given more (harder) tasks. It sounds tough, doesn't it? Maybe, but maybe not... When you look at it through the lens of personal growth, it actually looks more encouraging. The reward for one successful growth opportunity is more growth opportunities. This is the growth attitude. This is the winning mentality. If you are elevated to more challenging experiences, consider it as an opportunity for more growth. When you embrace it with positivity you will actually enjoy the journey and optimize your growth. Have you had such experiences where you complete one task and then congratulate you with more tasks? This is a great project, that is going to make interoperability of functional safety design and implementation between vendors, consultants and asset owners much better in the near future! Building on standardized formats, we can expect a reduction in manual data preprocessing and format transformations, better integrity controls and more streamlined collaboration in the engineering and implementation of safety critical functions. While the project is primarily driven by the oil and gas industry, the APOS 2.0 benefits should bring efficiency and integrity gains to many other industrial sectors as well!
