Embracing failure - the key to authentic leadership. In my recent podcast with?Andy Storch, I was asked five pivotal questions about leadership. One, in particular, stood out: "What was your biggest failure, and how did it shape you as a leader?" This is a moment that left a profound impact on my leadership journey. (If you'd like to hear the full interview, check the link in the comments!) Here’s what I’ve learned: Failure is not the end—it's a stepping stone to success. No great leader or entrepreneur ever succeeded without failing sometimes. The difference is that successful leaders understand how to "fail forward." They learn from their mistakes and use them as building blocks for future success. Each failure is a chance to sharpen your skills and improve your leadership. ? Authenticity in leadership is critical. It builds trust, fosters loyalty, and promotes a positive work culture. People are more likely to follow leaders who are true to themselves. This in turn makes employees feel safe to express both their ideas and concerns. ? Take every setback as an opportunity to reassess your strategy, strengthen your skills, and stay true to your authentic leadership style. Handle each failure with a growth mindset.? ? Failure is a teacher - and authenticity builds trust. ? So, the next time you stumble, remember—you’re just one step closer to success.
How goes the saying: Get up, straighten your crown. ?? And of course listen to what the failure wants to tell you. Thank you Dr. Bernhard Kaumanns, MD, PhD, MBA for this inspiring post.
Making mistakes and gaining experience is so important. I have learned that you have to make some mistakes by yourself.
Lieber Bernhard, danke für diesen wertvollen Beitrag. Wir brauchen Fehler um zu wachsen und zu lernen und unsere Pers?nlichkeit zu entwickeln.

Yes! I love asking people this question and hearing about their failures. It humanizes people and helps us relate and we can always learn from our own mistakes and failures as well as the failures of others, which means that by sharing we get to help others. Thanks again for coming on the show.
True however sometime it can be a really nasty teacher!!
Great advice
