Pumped to see the CCC easing up on delivery restrictions (finally!). This move isn't just a win for those who rely on easier ways of getting cannabis (i.e., medical), but also opening up more opportunities for social equity applicants and smaller players to enter the game. We can't wait to see how these new rules will make life easier for our customers and continue to share things up in the cannabis community! Looking forward to partnering with any new delivery businesses that can grow from this!

The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission is set to vote on crucial regulations this month, impacting cannabis delivery businesses. Last year's agreed policy changes could significantly boost struggling businesses' bottom lines. In December, the commission voted to amend a rule mandating two employees in cannabis delivery vehicles for security reasons. While this rule aimed to prevent risks, businesses argue that it inflates costs and hampers efficiency. Many of these delivery businesses are owned by individuals from marginalized groups, disproportionately affected by drug war policies. Removing the two-driver rule could create new economic opportunities for Black, brown, and low-income entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry. #Massachusetts #CannabisIndustry #PolicyChanges #EconomicOpportunities #Inclusion #Diversity #Entrepreneurship

Cannabis CEO & ECO Network Leader | Growing an 8-Figure Business | Investing with Impact | Balancing Professional Drive with Family Values
Enough complaining about the state of the #cannabisbusiness , we have got to start taking action to see change Every state with a regulated #cannabis market is wrought with issues Some of the rules and regulations we have to follow are laughable, some make you want to cry The reality is that the rules we have to abide by are created by politicians and lobbyists with no input from people who actually operate in the #cannabisindustry We are governed by people who have NO IDEA what we do or how we do it From plant tagging to retail limits, the system is broken and needs to be fixed We all complain about it on LinkedIn, we complain about it at MJ Unpacked and Benzinga Cannabis, we complain about it when we talk to our friends Who's doing something about it? There are "lobbying groups" that supposedly represent operator interests. I haven't seen them get anything positive done. They've never asked my opinion on anything So we are taking things into our own hands. The members of the Elite Cannabis Operators Mastermind have decided to put together a position paper on the state of payments in the industry We are taking a firm stance that if the state won't renew operators who haven't paid their taxes, they shouldn't renew operators who have outstanding AP We represent operators from MI, CA, WA, OR, NV, NJ, AZ, IL, MN, but we would be happy to share this document with operators from any other state who are interested in pushing this issue We have members with policy experience like Kenneth Cottrell, M.A., Lauren Carpenter and Marianne Cursetjee, MBA who are ready to lead the charge The interests of operators have long been ignored by the bodies that govern us We pay massive fees and taxes and our voices should be heard and carry weight It was always my intent that as the mastermind group grew, we would get into lobbying and be the go to group for new states coming online and eventually federal legalization Why wait? The time is now. Operators are struggling in the face of bad regulations and there's no better time to take action than NOW If you're an operator and you're interested in being involved in these kind of conversations and initiatives, shoot me a DM

Now that the excitement of cannabis being rescheduled has passed, many dispensaries are still dealing with the stress caused by overbuying (or underbuying) for 420. It's our firm belief that in order for the industry to reach its true unbounded potential, we must ensure that the right products (and right quantities) end up in the right locations. The panel “Effective Strategies to Convert Illicit Market Consumers” covered strategies and solutions to transition consumers from the illicit market to the legal market, addressing economic challenges and opportunities. Speakers included?Wesley Hein,?Matt Krishnamachari,?Bill Levers, Elliot Lewis and Anthony Alegrete, M.A.O.L. our COO. “One of the things we discussed on our panel was the main issue in converting consumers from the ‘traditional market’ to legal channels of purchasing cannabis is money, plain and simple,” said Bill Levers of?Beard Bros Pharms. “The over-regulation, over-taxation and extremely high barriers to entry have products that are in the legal supply chain priced at double or more from your friendly neighborhood dealer with cannabis in a sandwich bag. The solution is simple and it lies in the pricing. Governments need to stop thinking of #cannabis taxes as a cure-all for society’s woes and treat the industry just like any other industry with fair tax rates so businesses can survive. “One of my takeaways from the event—and our panel in particular—was Elliot Lewis’s mic drop,” Levers continued. “If you haven’t seen it, you should; it’s all over social media. I have said several times since the event that this will be Benzinga’s most memorable panel discussion ever.” We at 40 Tons agrees! This was a very important panel because it addressed topics that most don't want to talk about! We appreciate Benzinga Cannabis for creating the platform to do so. Benzinga Cannabis Now Melissa Reid

I am passionate about ensuring people feel seen, heard and individually valued, which in turn motivates and empowers them to be their best, unique selves.
This is an incredibly interesting topic. I have long been a fan of performance-based management adjusted to the job, then if performance is below what is required, investigating what the possible causes are and how to remedy. The opposite to me would be to try and define every possible cause of poor performance, then to invent a structure of rules and accountability to prevent all those causes. In the second structure, I find the cost versus the benefit to be lacking. I had not considered how this applies to impairment before. Ultimately, we try to prevent impairment at work by considering all possible causes and inventing tests to monitor those possible causes in our employees...drugs, alcohol, fatigue, physical/mental health crises, etc. If we had a performance-based tool for assessing impairment first, we could focus our energy identifying causes and remedies ONLY on employees who actually showed signs of impairment. What a game changer that would be! It could change how we do random drug testing and reasonable suspicion training/testing, how we identify employees who may need medical/mental health support, and more. And I imagine it would allow us to be more proactive as well. This article focuses more on the transportation industry, but it is easy to make the connection to how, if embraced, this could change employee assessment and paths to support across any industry.
The cannabis question is one we keep asking ourselves with greater concern as laws change: How do we prevent people from driving under the influence of cannabis? When we instead ask, "How can we prevent people from driving impaired?", it creates a shift in how we view the problem and opens up the possibility for new solutions. Thank you to The Trucker Media Group for publishing this article for me.
