For our current and future corporate partners, from the article, “Georgia Tech has over 1,000 researchers working on the clean energy transition across every school, college, and unit,”... Contact me here in our Office of Corporate Engagement to learn more!
U.S. News & World Report has named Georgia Institute of Technology the top public university and the No. 3 nationally in energy and fuel research! "?“Georgia Tech has over 1,000 researchers working on the clean energy transition across every school, college, and unit. I’m pleased to see the scale of our impact recognized by this ranking but also energized by the real-world impact that we are having on cleaner air, lower cost energy, and a healthier planet.” – Tim Lieuwen https://lnkd.in/e6hhuu88

I am happy to share and congratulate my doctoral advisee, Dr. Shubham Tiwari (who has graduated in December 2023 and is working as a postdoctoral research fellow in IIASA, Viena), for his 4th International Journal publication from his doctoral dissertation in the journal ‘Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments (Elsevier)’ with Impact Factor 8.0. This work elaborates on the cooperation-based transactive energy management (C-TEM) for multi-carrier networked energy hubs (EHs). Transactive energy facilitates peer-to-peer energy exchange among the EHs and ensures dynamic energy balance to achieve economic and environmental benefits. Based on the cooperative theory, individual EHs collate to secure maximum profit, which is then fairly and stably allocated among the hubs. Hence, this research formulates an improved and updated payoff allocation mechanism that incorporates the special features (emission-free generation) of EHs to ensure the economic stability of the coalition. Download the free version of our article that reached 2,500 reads and 69 citations on ResearchGate: https://lnkd.in/ehQS3ex Article: The synergistic effects of hydrogen embrittlement and transient gas flow conditions on integrity assessment of a precracked steel pipeline, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Vol. 45, Issue 35, 2020, Pages 18010-18020. The presence of cracks may provoke pipeline failure and hydrogen leakage. The auto-ignition of hydrogen leaks, although small, leads to a flame that is difficult to see. The latter makes such a phenomenon extremely dangerous as explosions became very likely to happen. This paper presents a reliable method that can be used to predict the acceptable defect to reduce risks caused by pipe failure due to hydrogen embrittlement. The presented model considers the synergistic effects of transient gas flow conditions in pipelines and hydrogen embrittlement of steel material due to pressurized hydrogen gas permeation. It highlights the importance of predicting and controlling transient flow phenomena. #hydrogenembrittlement #hydrogen #pipelines #oilandgas #energy #mechanicalemgineering #gas
