This visit to a local community reminded me that true innovation starts with empathy and understanding real-world challenges. These resilient women live in the heart of India, yet their struggles and stories resonate globally. It’s a powerful reminder that research isn’t just about discovery—it's about creating change, driving impact, and ensuring that science serves everyone, especially the underserved.The aim is to create accessible, affordable, and life-saving technologies that transcend socio-economic barriers. ??Let’s drive research that not only advances science but also uplifts and empowers women by addressing their most pressing health concerns.

Yesterday, I attended #ChiWitCon, a full-day conference for women in technology, and I?couldn’t?feel more inspired! Typically, the notebooks I get at conferences stay blank and untouched at home.?This time, I committed to writing down my ideas and insights, and now?it’s?filled to the brim! Every session was so relevant and empowering, providing a perfect environment to share ideas, network, and connect with like-minded women?who are shaping the future of tech. Here are some of my key takeaways from the day: - Session 1 - The Power of?"No"?by?Claire Podulka: My?main?insight from this session is that we need to learn how to say no to some things?to be able?to say yes to what is?really?important.?This?resonated with me deeply and is a lesson I will carry forward. - Session 2 - Pioneering Generative AI: From Idea to Impact:?It’s?always?interesting?and relevant to learn about AI nowadays, especially with?such expertise?that?Samira Ghodratnama, PhD?has.? - ARA Mentors Panel - Women Creating the Future of Tech and Business: I loved hearing the incredible stories from a panel of inspiring women.?These leaders?not only?shared valuable professional advice?but also?offered personal stories about resilience, growth, and leadership that?really?resonated with me. - Fireside Chat with Dr. Chevy Humphrey: A heartfelt and insightful conversation that touched on?so?many important topics for women in tech.? - Speaking Up Fearlessly Workshop with Katherine Knight, CPTD: This was a?bit of a?challenge for?me,?but in the best way! The workshop gave us great tips and tricks for speaking up with confidence, and it was so interactive - we all participated, shared, and practiced in?real-time.? -Show Up, Stand Up, and Five Keys to Success Along the Way: Last but not least, we heard from Julie Aylmer - her talk was not only informative but also fun and full of insights for data professionals and beyond. Overall,?the conference left me feeling empowered, motivated, and eager to continue growing and contributing to the tech world.?Grateful?for the opportunity to connect with such brilliant women and?looking?forward to applying these lessons in my journey!
