80/20 Automation for finance professionals I will be collaborating with Lance Rubin (one of the foremost financial modellers in the world today) on articles in relation to VBA, Power Query and Automation. My focus will be to show you primarily what will be of value to finance professionals using an 80/20 approach. I would like to share an example of a model that has saved me a lot of time that incorporates all of the above. Saving almost 95% in preparation and review time. (Equating to over 200 hours a month.) The model below is run on 140 different entities each month, on average they would take approximately 2 hours each to create manually. The model incorporates financial and non financial data from various sources. It now takes 15 minutes a month to update the model and one click to loop through and print all of the packs which can be run overnight. Take note as these principles can save you a lot of time! These are the same principles which have allowed me to take on so much other work and add value in relation to Finance business partnering activities. I will be creating a video series on all of the principles used in creating the model below with downloadable files so that you can copy, paste and amend to suit your needs. #automation #powerquery #vba #sql
