Lights, camera, action! ??? Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to step into the role of emcee for the Finance and Economics Cell inauguration at our college. What a thrilling experience that pushed me way out of my comfort zone! As I stood on stage, heart racing, I realized this wasn't just about introducing speakers – it was about connecting ideas, people, and possibilities. Our chief guest, Yash Awidra, Senior Consultant at Mercedes-Benz, shared insights that left us all in awe. Who knew the worlds of luxury cars and finance had so much in common? ???? The real surprise came from our alumni speaker, Achyuth Rotti, now thriving as an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Hearing how he went from sitting where we are to Wall Street was nothing short of inspirational. His journey from campus to Goldman felt like a roadmap for our own aspirations. ???? Key takeaways that stuck with me: 1. The finance world is evolving faster than ever – adaptability is key! ?? 2. Soft skills can be your secret weapon in a tech-driven industry. ???? 3. Never underestimate the power of your college network (thanks for the proof, Achyuth!) ???? Pro Tip: I found out that the "invisible audience" technique doesn't work when you can actually see everyone. Note to self: Those are real people, not Excel columns! ???? Jokes aside, it was an incredible experience. I gained new respect for public speakers, learned a ton about the latest in finance from our amazing guests, and discovered that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to unexpected growth. ?? To all my fellow students: don't shy away from these opportunities. You never know – your next role as an emcee might just be the first step towards becoming a future finance leader! ????
