No Veteran in this country should be homeless. No Veteran should be without Healthcare. The citizens owe those that volunteer to serve. If we are unwilling to do so, then all citizens should have to serve for 2yrs, male or female. A very small minority of our fellow citizens serve in our military. They should be paid better than civil servants. They should receive proper housing benefits, especially if they have a family. They should NEVER have to be on food stamps because their military pay does not cover their ability to put food on the table. I propose that all active duty military be given a food allowance. They should be trained in a military job as well as a position that will allow them to transition to the civilian sector while they serve. I propose that would assist in decreasing the joblessness and homelessness in the Veteran population.

Veterans Day is a time to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. Their sacrifices have helped preserve the freedoms and values we hold dear, and they deserve our deepest gratitude and respect today and always. As professionals and leaders in our communities, we have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of veterans and active service members. Here are a few ways we can show our appreciation and support: 1. Educate Ourselves and Others: Take the time to learn about the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. Understanding their experiences can foster empathy and support. 2. Support Veteran-Owned Businesses: Seek out and promote businesses owned by veterans. Supporting them not only helps the economy but also honors their service. 3. Mentorship: Offer your expertise and guidance to veterans entering the workforce. Your insights could make a significant impact on their career paths. 4. Volunteer: Engage with local veteran organizations and participate in community events that support veterans and their families. 5. Express Gratitude: A simple thank you can go a long way. Reach out to veterans in your network and let them know you appreciate their service. Let’s come together to honor those who have served and ensure they feel valued within our communities. This Veterans Day, let’s not only remember their sacrifices but also commit to making a positive impact in their lives. Thank you to all who have served.
