What does it take to ensure that community engagement isn't transactional, reduced to a buzzword or checkbox, in building partnerships between healthcare and people with lived experience? Our Power session with the team from INSPIRE is up on the website, you can learn from their research process, best practices, and action recommendations what it looks like to make community engagement more authentic and transformational.
We had a phenomenal discussion at our last Power is a Social Determinant of Health session about community engagement, with our colleagues and friends from INSPIRE (Initiating National Strategies for Partnership, Inclusion, and Real Engagement). INSPIRE is a national partnership project that brings together the Camden Coalition, Community Catalyst, the The Center to Advance Consumer Partnership, PFCCpartners, the Institute for Patient and Family Centered Care, alongside a team of experts with lived experience. Together, they are working to co-design a national strategy to advance meaningful partnerships between healthcare organizations and community members. Another excellent post by Digitising Social Care CareLineLive has the Care Circle which enables family, friends, community health workers, emergency services and the whole circle of care in the loop 24/7. This family portal function is one of my favourite features. If I had a loved one receiving domiciliary care, this would be something I would want to have access to. So I could know exactly what is going on and how they are doing straight from what the carer wrote rather than have to call the office and hear it from someone who may not have done the visit themselves. #domicillarycare #familyportal #personcentredcare #caremanagementsoftware
