Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis: The program typically prepares individuals to become certified assintant behavior analysts who specialize in applied behavior analysis (ABA). These professionals work with individuals across various settings to assess and improve behaviors, often focusing on those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or behavioral challenges. Graduates of such programs are often eligible to sit for the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) BCaBA exam, which is the standard certification for professionals in this field. Love this! I have had RBTs give me feedback and say how much they like that I collaborate with them. RBTs are there everyday working 1:1. They might see behaviors or other variables that we are not seeing. Yes we create the programming, but RBTs provided valuable information and feedback regarding the targets and interventions. Leah Gross initially whenever I meet a new RBT, I give a little introduction about myself and ask them to tell me about themselves. I then tell them, that we are a team and our working relationship is collaborative. I tell them that I want feedback on the programs and that's how I have been able to better build that working relationship with RBTs.

Most people know what constitutes overt racism. However, in our experience, many more, do not understand how they expose ethnic minorities to racism daily through microaggressions. Upon completion of this 2.5-hour Understanding Microaggressions – the subtle racism course, learners gain a thorough education on microaggressions including, the different types, impact, coping methods, how to manage difficult conversations, ways to challenge microaggressions, how offence is caused unintentionally and intentionally, and anti-blackness. This course has been created to educate people in the workplace and in their personal lives. It offers learning on the often unspoken, but very pervasive form of racism. Learn more here:

I was curious why people got into ABA, it looks like the science of behavior has a strong pull on people. It's not surprising, the incredible outcomes ABA can generate for specific populations is a result of a profound process. I think there are some interesting takeaways here: -Framing ABA as 'Autism Therapy' is too broad and won't resonate with many practitioners -Practitioners might enjoy more behaviorally focused opportunities. For instance, research opportunities or CEUs that are more focused on behavior science than populations. There are honestly a lot of interesting threads you can pull out of this survey response. Curious what others are thinking! A note on the survey and sample: Question was "What prompted your initial interest in ABA. Only three options were presented, Behavior Science, Autism, and Something Else. 115+ responses, +95% US based BCBAs. Audience is likely not perfectly representative of ABA as a whole. Most people who saw this are interested in technology in ABA. BCBAs who responded were more experienced than average practitioners(longer tenure in the field). #BCBA #RBT #ABA
