A new report from the Construction Leadership Council sets out a framework of the core overarching knowledge, skills and behaviours required to deliver effective retrofit of homes at scale, both in retrofit-specific roles and associated roles in the industry. Grosvenor has announced that former Knight Frank chair Alistair Elliott will lead its UK property arm. Currently Chair of LondonMetric plc and an advisor to the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall, Elliott's leadership will steer Grosvenor through its next phase of growth, the company said. Under outgoing Chair Melanie Gee, the Duke of Westminster's property business achieved several milestones, including low-carbon developments like South Molton and a 25 per cent reduction in carbon emissions since 2019. “Nothing is right if we are not doing what is right.” This quote hit me hard early into my reading of Ryan Holiday’s newest book, “Right Thing, Right Now.” And now I can’t stop reflecting on it. Whether I’m working on our Chamber’s DEI&B initiative or dadvocating for equal access to changing tables in public, I can't help but think that “nothing is right if we are not doing what is right.” It is my opinion, that too often we only think of ourselves and our interests without thinking about the greater good. That’s not the way we are called to serve our communities or those we commune with. As community architects, it’s our duty to look beyond our personal agendas and include input for all to ensure the future of the communities we serve is prosperous, vibrant and diverse. Reflecting on the quote maybe true integrity lies in our actions when aligned with what is just and right, not merely in our intentions. There are so many things I disagree with today, but if it’s true that “nothing is right if we are not doing what is right,” then I at least want to have compassionate conversations and actively listen to ensure that I’m always in alignment. #leadership #communityleadership

As June comes to a close, we would like to reflect on some key moments for the Apex North Business Coaching team. We had the pleasure of co-sponsoring the 18th hole at the Minnesota Construction Association (MCA) Golf Outing with North Star Law Group PLLC. It was a fantastic day filled with great conversations, meaningful connections, and a little friendly competition. Congratulations again to the raffle winner who took home a new golf putter. Events like these remind us of the importance of community and the power of collaboration. On a personal note, our founder, Glen Dall, also completed a challenging hike down the Grand Canyon. Here’s what he had to share: “This experience was a profound reminder of the value in confronting and overcoming obstacles. Each step through the canyon reinforced the importance of facing challenges head-on, a principle that applies just as much in business as it does on the trail.” As we reflect on these experiences, let’s keep pushing ourselves to face the tough conversations and challenges that come our way.
