I Help Working Women Achieve Their Dreams With Purpose And Power | Life Coach | Ex-Microsoft | Founder @ AltMart (Vegan e-marketplace) | Head of People & Culture @ Hotcult Media, PAD Mktg & Amusement Park Ent.
Women start businesses because they have to... Men often do it because they want to. For women, It's often about balancing life. Many female entrepreneurs start businesses because traditional jobs don’t offer flexibility or growth. They face barriers— like discrimination or caregiving— that push them to seek solutions through entrepreneurship. Men, however, are typically driven by- Profit, Ambition, Innovation. For them, starting a business is a proactive choice to seize market opportunities and grow wealth. But this doesn’t make women less AMBITIOUS. They take control when traditional careers fall short, creating businesses that align with their personal lives. Women often focus on social impact, building businesses that address problems they’ve faced. In contrast, men aim to scale for profit and dominate markets. Both start businesses, but their "WHY" shapes the "HOW." PS: Whats your reason to start your business?

Positive Psychologist | Career Strategist & Coach | Innovator of AI-Powered Career Exploration for EdTech
Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the House of Lords at Westminster Parliament, thanks to a special invite from the Prince's Trust. It was a pretty surreal moment, and the event was all about celebrating women in entrepreneurship and the huge impact we're having on modern business. We got to hear some really inspiring stories from women who are running their own businesses. Even though women only make up about 20% of entrepreneurs in the UK, that number is growing—and each of us brings something fresh and different to the table about how business can be done. Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain, made such a great point: women’s success in business doesn’t need to be measured by old-school, often male, standards. We define success in our own way. For a lot of us, it’s about creating flexible, supportive workplaces where collaboration, empathy, and making a positive impact are just as important as profits. So, what’s pushing women to start their own businesses? ?? The research shows that 60% of women want to be their own boss (can’t argue with that??), and 49% are looking for a better work-life balance. Others are turning their passions or hobbies into businesses (44%), or looking for more flexibility after having kids (36%). And then, of course, there’s that group of women (29%) who just have great business ideas they want to bring to life. But let’s be honest—starting a business isn’t always easy. Women still face challenges, like struggling to get funding or battling self-doubt. That’s why it’s so important to support women in gaining the skills and confidence they need to take the leap and succeed. As a psychologist, coach, and career advisor, I’m all about taking a personal approach. I work with people who don’t just want a job—they want a career that feels right, aligns with their values, and excites them. I get it—sometimes you have a great idea, but figuring out what to do next can be tough. That’s where I come in. Together, we’ll find the path that suits your life and makes you feel fulfilled. It’s not just about giving advice—it’s about walking that journey with you and helping you figure it all out. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career or thinking about starting a business, let’s talk! Together, we’ll come up with a plan to help you grow, enjoy what you’re doing, and make it work for you. And to all the women already running their own businesses—what keeps you going? What motivates you to keep growing and evolving? #careerdevelopment #womeninbusiness #inspiration #womenpower

Former International Speaker Bureau Owner & Agent. Creator of The Bookability Formula?. Founder of Speaking Business Academy. Teaching speakers how to apply Bureau strategies to grow their speaking businesses.
Are Women the Only Ambitious Ones Left? I recently launched a special programme called "Double Your Turnover" (or "Double Your Revenue" for my American friends). The goal? To help speakers significantly increase their earnings. It's an intensive, 12-month journey that requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and yes, ambition. As I looked at the list of speakers who signed up, I can't help but notice a striking pattern: Every single one of them is female. That's right – a programme designed to help speakers achieve their most ambitious financial goals, and it's entirely filled with women. Now, as someone who's been in this industry for decades, I have to ask: Is it just women who are ambitious these days? Have men lost their drive, their hunger for success? Or is there something else going on here? Part of me wonders if it's a reflection of the changing dynamics in the speaking world. As more and more women break through the glass ceiling and make their voices heard on stage, perhaps they're also the ones who are most eager to take control of their financial destiny. Or maybe it's a sign of the times we're living in. With so much uncertainty and upheaval in the world, perhaps women are feeling a greater sense of urgency to secure their future and build a stable, prosperous business. But whatever the reason, one thing is clear: The women in this programme are not messing around. They're ready to do the work, to push themselves out of their comfort zone, and to achieve the kind of success they've always dreamed of. And as their mentor and guide on this journey, I couldn't be more excited to see where they'll go. Because if there's one thing I've learned in my years in this business, it's that ambition knows no gender. It's a fire that burns inside all of us, waiting to be ignited. So to all the other speakers out there who are feeling that spark, that hunger to take their speaking business to new heights – what are you waiting for? The path to success is open to everyone, regardless of gender. All it takes is the courage to take that first step. And to the women in my programme, and all the ambitious women speakers out there – keep blazing that trail. Keep showing the world what you're made of. And most importantly, keep supporting and uplifting each other. Because together, there's no limit to what we can achieve. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think the speaking industry is changing? Are women leading the charge when it comes to ambition and financial success?

Things I've learnt since becoming the MD and Founder of Rhiannon Martin Consulting 1. It is easy to work a double week if you don't make time to turn off technology. 2. Despite it being 2024, some people still think that my business MUST be run by a man in order to operate successfully. 3. Rest is paramount. If you are a #woman in #business #technology or #marketing let's connect. According to The World Economic Forum's article by Victoria Masterson https://lnkd.in/eziK6QRS. "only 1/3 women WORLDWIDE own a business". Interestingly though according to Forbes' https://lnkd.in/e2sypryb. article by Rhett Buttle: "In the US, there are over 14 million women-owned small businesses, accounting for nearly 40% of all businesses in the country." Rhett goes on to explain that: "Women-owned businesses pack a powerful economic footprint,?generating?$2.7 trillion in annual revenue and employing almost 12.2 million people". #womenintechnology #womeninfinance #womeninbusiness #business #founder #inclusivehiring #learninganddevelopment

Building Bold, Stand-Out Brands for Women-Led Businesses | Messaging, Visibility & Strategy for Founders Ready to Get Loud | Home of The Loud Women Club & The Gobby Feminist
“If it’s that good, why doesn't it cost more?” I announced The Loud Women Club two days ago and I've already been asked this question. This is my answer… ...Because it doesn’t have to. It’s that simple. If you know anything about sales psychology, you’ll know people have an inherent distrust of big promises with small price tags. And rightly so (usually). Which is why, when you underprice your service, you’re actually telling people it’s not worth more. So it’s a risky strategy to deliberately underprice something hugely valuable. But I’m doing it anyway because boll**ks to the rules! Over the past 3 years of running my business, there’s one thing that’s bothered me more than anything else; the lack of expert, accessible support for small business owners. The catch 22 of needing to invest to grow but not having the expertise to grow enough to invest just bugs the hell out of me. And the constant stream of big creators telling us ‘if we wanted to invest we would’ just adds to the feeling of failure and isolation. I’ve seen women invest more than they could afford and stress themselves out because they just wanted their business to work. It can be so overwhelming in that first phase and with so much conflicting advice, it’s almost impossible to know what the right thing is for YOUR business. How many women are giving up in those situations? Going back to employment or taking part time jobs ‘just for now’ and never getting the chance to go all in on their business? How many great ideas are being squashed by bad advice and overpaid 'experts'? This is the problem I want to solve in my business. Getting off the starting blocks and giving those businesses the best chance of success. My values are based around Impact, Community and Transformation and, while I obviously need to cover my bills, I’m not motivated simply by making lots of money. Go ahead, call me naive or misguided, I’m not bothered. If my business can support more women to make a real go of theirs and prevent them from feeling lost and isolated, I’ll sleep easy at night. I’ve checked out so many of these memberships and I could easily price this one at £800+ a month for what I’m offering. But, if I did that, the women I really want to reach can’t access it. So I’m breaking the rules and offering huge value for a small price. Because the value I’ll receive in return is priceless. And that’s worth breaking the mould for. But I need your help to make it viable. It needs enough women in it to bring the value to our members. I need just 25 women. That’s all. Not hundreds, just 25. 25 women and I can focus 100% of my time on this community. So if you know a woman who needs help to get their business moving in the right direction, send them my way and let’s build a thriving community of women supporting each other to go out there and smash it. #loudwomen #communitybuilding #womensupportingwomen

Molecule shaking speaker | Author coaching for the brave | 21 Books | FRSA | Award Winning Writer | Drinking Tea Down Rabbit Holes Daily
How much faith do you have in yourself to make a great ROI? A few years back I was selling an ergonomic corner desk for £300. I paid £600 new. I wanted to get rid of it quickly so was selling it for £150. A beautiful desk, one which I'd written books, courses, proposals and articles at. Sitting at that desk, I'd closed deals totaling ~$500k in various revenue streams. A woman asked about the desk, but wanted to pay £50. When I told her "No" she then tried to explain why she couldn't afford to pay more. This was a woman setting up in business, who didn't believe in investing £150 in a £600 desk; a desk she would spend hours a day at making money, attending personal development courses and networking. I sold the desk for £300 the next day to a man who had saw the value of investing in such a desk, and wanted to make sure I didn't sell it to anyone else because it was just what he was looking for. And this is the difference I often find between men and women. Take my #OwningOurOvaries anthology, an opportunity for women to - Showcase who they are and what they do (global long term advert) - Get clear on all they've achieved and overcome (renewed transformation) - Create global #revenuestreams (new clients, book sales +) - Collaborate on inspiring other woman to believe in themselves (networking/philanthropy) - Improved writing skills - Increased confidence - Marketing assets and marketing on other people's platforms - And much more besides as I introduce them to new clients, podcast opportunities, Sharing with each other expertise gleaned from decades of international business and global insights. And yet, so very few women see the value in themselves, their story or have the confidence and vision to invest in themselves. I've asked male friends and colleagues if they know any women who would be interested in this opportunity. They sat for a while and couldn't think of a single woman who'd be suitable for this project. They could refer me to women's networks, could quickly calculate $10,000s in revenue, but think of a woman who'd see this as a no brainer investment? But not one who has achieved, is willing to invest and give back to others. When it comes to investing in ourselves, us #women have still got a long way to go, especially when it comes to seeing the big picture. In my #7WeekAuthorCourse I share some of the best ways to #makemoney as an author and co-author. This course is already being entered for awards! When working with me in any capacity, I will always support you and help you spot #potentialearnings, but you have to be the one who is open to #investing in yourself, your business and your vision. Working with me isn't an expense, it is an investment in yourself that just keeps on giving back to you. So, if you want to write a solo book, co-author a chapter with me in my final anthology or lead your own anthology under my guidance, then send me a DM and let's impact the world, whilst making money! #authoractivist
