It seems that Amazon's vast distribution network could facilitate direct pickups from consumers, aiding in scaling the #circulareconomy we all need. Is anyone else concerned about the disparity between the allocation of resources and attention on reporting environmental impacts versus actually reducing them? Many in-house sustainability teams allocate 80-100% of resources to reporting and only 0-20% to reducing impacts like GHG emissions. I certainly believe in the importance of quantifying annual environmental impacts for baselining, goal setting, prioritizing and road mapping solutions, which is why Firecrown supports companies in these critical steps. However, it's time to drastically streamline the process of quantifying and reporting GHG emissions so we can shift the world's focus to reducing emissions and addressing the climate crisis. If you have insights on this issue or want to stay updated on the solutions I'm gathering, DM me. Shifting corporate resources from reporting emissions to reducing them is not always a popular stance so if you disagree let me know your thoughts. Saturday I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer alongside the Arup team at the BLOOM farm in Concord, CA. It was an honor to lead a group of their staff in the co-created design and buildout of their new onsite composting system! ?? Bloom is an amazing nonprofit focused on workforce development for the multi sectional and underrepresented groups in the East Bay. ?? Their work is deeply inspiring and positively impactful! ??
