Ask me and I’ll have an unusual answer for you. The best kind of dates in my book have to be with my 5-year old daughter, Viara. First, let me tell you my reasons for initiating and hosting such dates. I feel that with the second child in the picture, in most cases, the older child fights for the parent's time and attention. While I try my best to spend enough time with both my children, I would never want my older one to feel left out or side-lined, which is where I feel these exclusive dates do the trick. On our dates, we usually head to a café and enjoy our time together with good food and great conversations. Second and most important, I feel a different kind of connection with my daughter. Call it the feminine or first child energy but for me Viara isn’t just my daughter but also my best friend. So let’s just say these dates make way for some harmless gossip and giggles. Let’s not discount the solid bonding, free-flowing conversations, and unimaginable warmth shared through these dates. Not saying this counts, but my husband is a frequent traveller for work, which means we don’t get enough dates anyway. So let’s just say the mumma-daughter dates just make up for this void ??
