As we approach the 25th anniversary of the Kargil War, I witnessed a powerful tribute to our brave soldiers at Junction Mall, Durgapur. Here are some of my key reflections: The weapons display honoring Kargil Vijay Diwas is not just a reminder of our military might, but a bridge connecting our past sacrifices to our present peace. 1. The Kargil War (May-July 1999) was the first televised conflict for many Indians, bringing the realities of war into our living rooms. 2. Operation Vijay's success was a testament to the courage and strategic brilliance of our armed forces, who reclaimed all Indian positions. 3. The conflict reshaped India's defense policies and accelerated military modernization efforts. 4. Seeing weapons similar to those used in Kargil displayed in a civilian space creates a unique juxtaposition - a reminder that peace is hard-won. 5. This mall exhibition makes history tangible for younger generations who may not have direct memories of the conflict. As we honor the 527 Indian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, their legacy continues to shape our nation. And let's renew our commitment to supporting our armed forces and working towards a peaceful, secure future for India. #KargilVijayDiwas #RememberingOurHeroes #IndianArmedForces

Through a program known as Project Udbhav, the Indian Army, the second-largest military force in the world, is using its rich cultural history to improve its strategic view. Army Chief General Manoj Pande praised this effort, which combines historical understanding with current issues by incorporating India's traditional strategic knowledge into modern military operations. ? Project Udbhav, initiated in partnership with the United Service Institution of India, aims to find and integrate historical events and ancient Indian writings into contemporary military doctrines. By using a comprehensive approach, India hopes to improve its defence capabilities and strategic perspective while assuring that future military commanders will be motivated and informed by the lessons learned from the past.
