???"What's the #market doing?" ? Well looking at #tenders on EstimateOne and speaking to #Construction Professionals, this is what I understand it to be;
???Tier 1 & 2 - Not a heap of projects out there right now. Take a look at the city. Not as many cranes as there once was, but each firm still has 'enough' on the books. They are looking at the future with optimism and even smaller projects that they may not ordinarily look at, but its not doom and gloom by any means.
??Tier 3 - VSBA, Local Council & Private School builds are SUPER competitve on tenders, but that has always been the case I've found.
Commercial projects & Warehouses seem to be steady, but not fast flowing. Some of the upper tier firms are looking at projects that would have previously been underneath their range. Equally, smaller players are competing for the tier 3 sized jobs, because their pre-lims are lower and its a stretch goal for them to achieve bigger projects.
??Fitout - Going well! Even though we've unfortuntaley seen some companies cease to exist in the past 12 months, Fitout seems to be pretty steady with work, albeit slower to sign contracts, but the sentiment of "we're doing well" seems to be acorss the board, certainly for the smaller firms and start ups (which we're seeing plenty of).
????So it's "not bad" but we've had it better. A "market correction" is what some people have said to me, and I tend to agree.
