March 21st is Arizona State University’s annual Sun Devil Giving Day! ?????? A 24-hour period to show how we, as a community, can make the largest impact! On this special day we ask you to consider helping us make the largest impact we can by making a gift to the W.P. Carey Master of Real Estate Development Alumni Chapter. Your gift helps make the program better by supporting scholarships and improving the student experience. With over 400 MRED Alumni, our faculty and industry partners know firsthand the quality of our program and the transformational value it presents for individuals and entire communities. As new generations learn how to advance their careers, the communities they live, work and invest in, we ensure our students are pursuing environmentally, socially responsible, and thoughtfully designed work. Each gift, regardless of size, makes a difference. The cumulative power of giving makes so much possible! With a gift of $100 today by each of our alumni we could raise enough to cover one (1) full in-state tuition scholarship for a student to join our program and eventually join all you as the next industry leaders! Together, we can pay it forward to future MRED alumni.???? https://lnkd.in/gDzcrm-T

In a recent edition of Exchange Every Day dedicated to embracing families, communities, and culture, Monica Wells, our family and community program administrator, shared her deep connection to families and communities and how it positively impacts children's success. "Strong, authentic relationships between our families, students, and educators are key. We must speak life into our students, cheer them on, teach them the skills, and provide the tools they need to be prepared for the future. We must show examples of the power, importance, and necessity of community." Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gc7ur8uu

Yesterday was my first opportunity to attend the Illinois Education and Career Success Network annual conference. The theme - Awareness to Action - resonated throughout the day and left me feeling even more energized to create more equitable postsecondary pathways for young people. A few thoughts that are sticking with me: 1. “We’re asking students the wrong questions”. In a session focused on leveraging state frameworks like PaCE, I was validated when thinking about how important it is to put the idea of “what/who do you want to be…” in front of students versus leading advising conversations with thoughts simply about what college students want to attend. 2. “We need to shift the burden from the students to the system”. In multiple sessions, this thought came through. Simply by being a part of an unjust system means you have the proximity and power to play a role in fixing that system so that it better supports the students and families it is meant to serve. All of this has me even more excited to be a part of an organization like OneGoal that is focused on leading the movement to transform postsecondary advising and support. Onward!

Recognizing the power of place, acknowledging the power the place, tapping into the power the place, and learning to see and listen to the stories to be discovered in the places we live, work, and travel is fundamental to CSCR's mission. Engaging students in authenic civic and scientific issues prominent in the local community is not only a process that prepares students to be stewards of community resources, it informs all of us about our shared principles and values; it enables us to collectively advance the Common Good. This shared objective, grounded in our Constitution, is equally present in the vision statement of Cohasset Public Schools: "empowering students to improve communities." https://conta.cc/4f6mjOB

Happy 1st Day of October! You know what that means? October is Minnesota State Month! As a member of Minnesota State, Inver Hills Community College is offering many ways for students to save on higher education. This makes October a great time for students to take advantage of visit and tour events and apply for admission. 1. One way to save during Minnesota State Month: we are waiving undergraduate application fees – applying for free is a great way to take your first steps towards a brighter future! 2. Students can take advantage of significant savings on tuition and fees. Already the lowest in the state, undergraduate tuition has been frozen at 2022 levels until Spring 2025. 3. In addition, students from families with an Adjusted Gross Income of less than $80,000 may qualify for the North Star Promise, a program that provides free tuition for eligible students. 5. Finally, students can also save by taking advantage of the many scholarship opportunities available through our foundation, such as Workforce Development Scholarships that encourage students to enter programs in high demand by employers. Learn more here about our scholarships by visiting https://lnkd.in/gmurW2GP. More information on Minnesota State Month is available at minnstate.edu.
