In my last video I showed you how index matches an alternative to X lookup. Now here's another 1G gets. Let's use this table to get the budget for the high department using hex lookup. Height is the lookup value, the lookup array is the department column, and the return hurray is the budget. Coulomb close the brackets and we get the results. Now let's try delegates. The database is the entire table, the field is budget. Which you can select from above and the criteria simple department equals height. close the brackets and we get the exact same result. But here is what makes D get special. It's dynamic. Change the fields to employees and the result updates instantly. We can't achieve the same dynamic results with X lookup. Awesome solution. I tried it immediately and went well. I retrieved value from the left hand side seamlessly too. I changed the column header and I got the right value since it is within the range of the db selected. Thanks for sharing. This is to tell us there are more ways of solving problem in Excel.
