Here, our very successful Vision Q7 DSP is performing Time-of-Flight (ToF) decoding in real-time. The Q7 DSP integrated on an Axera AX650 SoC converts the raw phase coded image from the camera and generates a depth map using ToF algorithms. Implementing ToF decoding on the Q7 DSP has shown significant performance improvement and flexibility compared to a CPU- or RTL-based implementations. This demonstration was done in collaboration with LIPS Corporation, a leading provider of 3D camera cameras machine vision solutions who also supplied the ToF algorithms and camera.
