When Dave Hallam hired me in 1989, he told me that at Hallam-ICS, “we work to live, we don’t live to work.”?As a 21-year-old engineer entering the workforce, this was very appealing as I had many interests along with a desire to grow personally and professionally!
Over time, I came to appreciate the broader philosophy that “working” allows each of us to uniquely craft our “lives” to match our values, dreams, and beliefs.
At Hallam-ICS, our work of engineering, control systems, and safety allows us to live generously, sharing with our employee-owners, our clients, and our communities.?At the end of 2022, we became a Benefit Corporation, with the following non-financial goals:
- A General Public Benefit of "creating a material positive impact on society and the environment."?
?????????
- A Specific Public Benefit of "providing equitable distribution of wealth through our commitment to employee ownership and our ESOP." And, "promoting broad-based employee-ownership as an equitable means of company ownership."
- And "being a positive force to improve the lives of our employee-owners and the communities in which they live and work."
We endeavor to be transparent in our actions and make our progress available publicly through our recently published 2023 Annual Benefit Report.?We invite you to read through the report and encourage you to provide us feedback on how we can improve.
