Losing just one hour of sleep could take you four days to recover The optimum sleep duration is 7-8 hours per night. Lack of sleep (sleep deprivation) results in various problems, such as poor attention, focus, concentration and memory. Poor sleep also increases the risk of headache, anxiety and stress. Sleep deprivation is associated with poor decision making and driving errors, leading to more vehicle crashes. The most important aspect what I wish to highlight is that: LOSING JUST ONE HOUR OF SLEEP CAN TAKE UP TO FOUR DAYS TO RECOVER. When men join our groups or counseling and tell me they’re only sleeping 3–4 hours a night, my first advice is simple: prioritize your sleep. Why? Because without sleep, your brain can’t process, heal, or grow. When we’re severely sleep-deprived, we can’t fully show up for ourselves or the people we care about. Stress takes over, emotions run wild, and love—both for others and ourselves—gets pushed to the side. Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation. Start there, and everything else becomes more manageable. Pause. Breathe. Rest.

Your alarm time shouldn’t always be fixed; it should adjust based on when you sleep and when you need to start your day.
