Well said Florence. In the end technology is not an end unto its self, but it is an enabler of human skills, creativity and passion. In other words the virtual and real and data domains intersect with the know-how and experience domains this is how we improve the human condition. Education is both a way to transfer knowledge but more it lifts up people, gives them the way to enrich their personal skills and contributions to society. Today, an astonishing 90% of cars in the world are engineered with #3DEXPERIENCE capabilities! ?? I don’t say that out of pride (well, maybe just a little), but because it’s a striking indicator of how prominent #virtualtwins already are in the industry. Yet it raises another question: if the workplace of today is increasingly digital, can we ensure the same of the workforce? There are reasons to be concerned: I’ve highlighted before the worrying fact that 66% of recent engineering grads in the US lack skills in areas like additive #manufacturing and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). That’s why I’m so pleased that initiatives like our ‘Future of Engineering’ education experience are helping address this skills gap, providing students and teachers with leading industry software, classroom-ready resources, and certifications. And these solutions aren’t just helping power the factories of today; they are also supporting tomorrow’s sustainable innovators by offering students experiences in processes like life cycle assessment and eco-design through virtual twins. It’s a super exciting initiative, and one I think will be essential in ensuring that we are as well-prepared as we can be for the future. So many great classes to choose from at Autodesk #AU2024 - here’s a potential classic covering digital twins and factory design and optimisation.

LOVED my first #AU2024!! From connecting with customers and colleagues I've only met over a Zoom call, to the expo and sessions, everyone seemed inspired about the future of our industry. My biggest takeaways... 1. AI, Integrations & Automations: While I think we all agree AI is somewhat still a buzzword, it's closer to impacting our work then ever. And now is the time to think about design and construction data management to leverage AI in the very near future. (and to some degree, even now!) 2. Sustainability Initiatives: From the #LA2028 Olympics to Industrialized Construction (#GreenCanopyNode!!), it's clear that technology can help us build a better, cleaner, smarter future. 3. Autodesk Construction Cloud: ACC had a major impact at AU2024. While I loved hearing about product enhancements and future roadmaps, my favorite sessions were around our customers talking about the problems they have solved leveraging ACC. (#Clayco had a session around 'zero punch' with their Punch as You Build program supported by ACC...so inspiring!) 4. Continued Digital Transformation in Design & Construction: Labor shortages, rising material costs, project delays. All common problems that are tough to control. Technology continues to help our customers be more agile and resilient across industries. Overall, #AU2024 underlined the ongoing shift toward more connected, sustainable, and digitally-enabled workflows in both design and construction industries.

What an amazing week at Autodesk University 2024!?Over 12,000 people converged on the San Diego convention center for an action-packed week.?I spent 4 full days meeting with customers and partners in a variety of settings… presentations, advisory boards, summits, business reviews, awards ceremonies, socials, and 1:1 conversation. Here are a few highlights from what I learned: 1) We need to enable better collaboration across companies and personas involved in a project… architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators, project managers, etc.?We hosted the AEC Customer Advisory Board on the first day with “Digital Project Delivery” being the primary discussion topic, with customers sharing their views on how we can collectively work better together across disciplines 2) Local standards and regulations add significant complexity for all firms, having to maintaining compliance.?AI could play a role in performing initial validation of whether a design is compliant, or in searching regulations to find the pertinent requirements 3) Accessing data currently stored in application files can support a variety of use cases.?Customers are using the AEC Data Model to access project data and apply algorithms to assess whether their users created designs consistent with their companies’ standards 4) Companies want finer-grain permissions, to specify who can modify what data in their designs.?For example, the ability to require certain materials across projects as a company standard, with only select individuals being able to modify that.?They also want better auditing, so they know which user made what changes in a design. 5) Partners play a critical role with Autodesk solutions.?Fugro’s sub-surface modeling capabilities with GeoDin are a perfect complement to Civil 3D for site design.?ESRI’s advanced mapping and geolocation capabilities provide the necessary context for our users’ designs.?HP and AMD’s innovation in hardware provide users with better performance, particularly for large-scale designs.?It takes the ecosystem working together to deliver the most value to customers There are many sessions that I couldn’t attend, so will be watching them online.?You can as well – visit the AU website below! #AU2024 #Autodesk #AutodeskUniversity https://lnkd.in/gfNw-6iR
