9 May is Europe Day, an annual celebration of “peace and unity in Europe”, commemorating the “Schuman Declaration”?that led to the European Coal and Steel Community; i.e., the precursor of the European Union as we know it today. This year, Europe Day is celebrated just a month before the European elections on 6-9 June 2024.
