For a designer working in a smaller market, the reality of creating projects that stand the test of time can be both a challenge and a rare privilege. In such settings, where trends may come and go swiftly, leaving behind a trail of ephemeral designs, the opportunity to craft enduring works that resonate across years becomes a precious aspiration.
Each project undertaken in a smaller market carries the potential to be a legacy, a piece of art that defies the constraints of time and trends, becoming a timeless representation of the designer's skill and vision.
While the majority of projects may fade into obscurity with changing tastes and demands, those select few that endure serve as beacons of creativity and excellence, showcasing the designer's ability to transcend fleeting fads and leave a lasting mark on the design landscape.
Here are six of my designs that have survived the test of time. From the top left: Cameron Art Museum, Cape Fear Community College, Brooklyn Arts Center, Dynamic Entry (Blackhawk), Morris Institute for Human Values, and Dietsche + Dietsche Architects.
Caroline, We are so excited to have you as part of the Team! You have already made such an impact.
