DoD Releases Solicitation for Advanced Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Demonstration (ADSSD) The Department of Defense (DOD), in partnership with the National Spectrum Consortium (NSC), has released a Request for Prototype Proposal (RPP) for the Advanced Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Demonstration (ADSSD) Statement of Objectives (SOO). Effective management of spectrum is essential to the Nation’s national security and economic interests. The ADSSD solicitation calls for industry to develop a capability or technology that will demonstrate the effectiveness of spectrum-sharing enablers and the viability of DSS to enable coexistence within the 3100-3450 MHz band while adhering to the conditions in DoD’s 2023 Emerging Midband Radar Spectrum Sharing report.?Proposals are encouraged to satisfy as many of the three Statement of Objectives as feasible.?The objectives were informed by the spectrum sharing Courses of Action (COAs) developed by government, industry, and academia through the Partnering to Advance Trusted and Holistic Spectrum Solutions (PATHSS) Task Group. This will be interesting to see as it progresses. Those involved with the midband 3GHz study for the DOD understand the implications for vacating that band or co-use. It looks like the DOD will have no choice but to co-use and are spending the money for industry to figure out a solution.
