The EU received a Gender Equality Index score of 70.2 in 2023. ?? The 2023 score of 70.2 marks a notable improvement from the 2022 score of 68.6, representing an increase of 1.6 points. This upward trend indicates progress towards gender equality. However, while this advancement is encouraging, significant challenges remain. Several areas still require focused efforts and targeted initiatives to further close the gender gap and achieve more comprehensive equality between men and women. At Fasanara, we are committed to empower women by supporting women-led SMEs and promoting participation in leadership and decision-making of women across small and medium enterprises (SMEs). ?? Sobering yet essential reading. While we see glimmers of hope, again this year, the scale and speed of progress are gravely insufficient to achieve gender equality by 2030. Resourcing gender equality efforts at all levels is a key ingredient to avoid the rollback of hard-earned progress. Advancing gender equality requires everyone’s commitment and participation — in government; the private, philanthropic and community sectors; in families, the arts, media, sports, faith communities. We can make change: knowing where we stand and where efforts are most needed is a great place to start. Read on and act now.
It will take 134 years to reach full gender parity – roughly five generations beyond the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal. That's a three-year increase over 2023's projection. Featuring LinkedIn data and insights, the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Report 2024, provides a comprehensive gender equality assessment across 146 countries. As shown by the report, the scale and speed of progress are not enough to achieve #GenderEquality by 2030. However, through collaborative efforts and targeted interventions between governments and businesses, we can accelerate progress! Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eXBZggDC Via World Economic Forum

Even with all the efforts being put in by various stakeholders, we have added three more years to the projection to reach full gender parity taking the figure to 136 years (five generations after #agenda2030). World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2024, gives the comprehensive gender equality assessment across 146 countries. The Global Gender Gap Index (#GGGI) annually benchmarks the current state and evolution of gender parity across four key dimensions: 1. Economic Participation and Opportunity, 2. Educational Attainment, 3. Health and Survival, and 4. Political Empowerment. Since launching in 2006, it is the longest-standing index tracking the progress of numerous economies’ efforts towards closing these gaps over time. Some facts about the report: * this is the 18th edition of the report * 101 countries have been included in all the editions since 2006 * The global gender gap score in 2024 for all 146 countries included in this edition stands at 68.5% closed. *Iceland (93.5%) is again ranked 1st and has been leading the index for a decade and a half. It also continues to be the only economy to have closed over 90% of its gender gap. *European economies occupy seven spots out of the global top 10. In addition to Iceland, these include Finland (2nd, 87.5%), Norway (3rd, 87.5%), Sweden (5th , 81.6%), Germany (7th, 81%), Ireland (9th, 80.2%) and Spain (10th, 79.7%).? The most important insight is : Among the 146 economies covered in the 2024 index, * the Health and Survival gender gap has closed by 96%, * the Educational Attainment gap by 94.9%, * the Economic Participation and Opportunity gap by 60.5%, and * the Political Empowerment gap by 22.5%.
