This past week, the Alumni Relations committee hosted a Founders Day event to celebrate 117 years of brotherhood since the founding of Delta Sigma Pi on November 7th, 1907. Collegiate members and alumni gathered in a classroom to share their experiences and reflect on the lasting impact of the fraternity. The event began with a presentation from the alumni committee, which outlined the origins of Delta Sigma Pi. Founded in 1907 at New York University’s School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance, the fraternity was established by Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken, and Harold Valentine Jacobs. Following the presentation, an alumni panel introduced themselves, sharing their post-graduation experiences and reflecting on why they joined Delta Sigma Pi in college. Each alum spoke about how the fraternity has influenced their personal lives and careers, emphasizing the lasting benefits of brotherhood and professional development. They also offered advice to current members, encouraging them to take on leadership roles and build meaningful connections. Swati Kumar, Vice President of Alumni Relations, shared that the evening left collegiate members "inspired and connected”, with a deeper appreciation for the “lifelong impact of Delta Sigma Pi’s brotherhood”. Celebrating our chapter’s history is a privilege. Learning about how our past has shaped the Gamma Omega chapter we know today is truly inspiring. This event served as a powerful reminder that brotherhood doesn’t end at graduation—it lasts a lifetime!
