Seven of ASTM's Memorandum of Understanding partnerships are with regional standardization bodies such as the Arab?Industrial Standards and Mining Organization (Aidsmo.org).? AIDSMO and ASTM International sat down to discuss greater regional collaboration through meeting participation and a new approach for outreach initiatives, AIDSMO’s nomination as a Standards Expert Program participant in 2025, and the naming of Engineer Fouad Yazbeck as the ASTM representative in the Middle East.? ASTM International staff members Teresa J. Cendrowska, MBA (right) and James Olshefsky (left) took an opportunity at the closing of this week's ISO Annual Meeting to greet the new President of the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), H.E. Eng. Nawaf Al-Mana (center). ASTM staff expressed continued commitment?to collaboration with GSO, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2006 — during which time GSO has cited almost 1000 standards in its work as a regional standards body for the Gulf Region.

Nearing the conclusion of a week in Cartagena meeting with other standards professionals, ASTM was pleased to encourage the nascent standards body Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification. Here, ASTM Vice President for Global Cooperation Teresa J. Cendrowska, MBA presents a recognition certificate for five years of partnership to General Director Akmal Jumanazarov, PhD. The partners agreed to review the benefits of the MoU and to work together to more effectively engage in capacity building.

Discussed was the recent growth in the area of fuel testing, and the adoption of several ASTM standards in the petroleum and biofuels sector.

(Nsengimana), the secretary general of the African Organisation for Standardisation - ARSO. Discussed was ASTM's ongoing collaboration with ARSO in the area of textiles and medical devices, as well as ASTM standards in the area of renewable energy.

Glad to meet Mr. Nattaphongs Julagatepotichai, the new director for international affairs from the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), Mrs. Jirawan Limpaibool, chief of the international organizations group at TISI, and Pimchanok Chuduang of TISI, during the ISO Annual Meeting, in Cartagena, Colombia, where ASTM presented a certificate commemorating the 10th anniversary of signing the MoU with TISI. ASTM staff informed the representatives from TSI about the complimentary technical programs for the Asia region, including the online seminar series on environment and sustainability where ASTM has conducted programs on sustainable aviation fuel, plastics and ESG, and climate disclosures. ASTM staff also shared information about the in-person training opportunities and explored interest in conducting academic outreach programs in Thailand.
