Great post! Great job, Michael Burke! Reading the post, I just can imagine how rich of insights this presentation has been. Embracing alliance management is a long journey for individuals and organizations, which is certainly worth every time and investment put into it. But, as pointed out in the post, in order to increase and accelerate the learning curve and capture the intended business results, skilled professionals for sure make the difference!
Thank you Michael for the great recap. I am more motivated that ever to instill partnering competencies EVERYWHERE. Partner companies will be the winners in the next decade - no doubt!

6 个月This is such a great post, and the link to the recap by Michael Burke is awesome! I am totally with Joy Wilder Lybeer, on this topic. Alliances should never be an ad hoc role, otherwise the chances of failing in your Alliance value creation endeavours will lead to very high failure rates. You need well trained and competent Alliance professionals who know how to create, develop and manage Alliances well, but they also need to the "soft skills" around having the right behaviours, mindsets and attitudes in order to drive collaborative success. This is about having an "abundance mindset". Good Alliance mindset requires constant training, and I know that only too well, and I know that well! Fantastic article!
