Please help the UK increase innovation by completing this survey!?? This is for you if you work in the UK and either: produce research, create or improve products or processes, deploy new technologies or work in R&D or innovation teams.?? My team has designed this survey to enable better decisions through better data (on types of innovation, job mobility, skills, outputs, diversity, government support and issues faced by the people who make innovation happen).?? We are so grateful to the 6,000 innovators who completed this survey in the first week! The more people answer, the more precise the data on each sector. This data will then be used to tailor government policy.??

What is the first impression your company gives to a new team member? Don’t forget, they know nothing about you beyond the interview process and are really getting to know you and others for the first time! For our new marketing and communications team members, I thought it was important to give them a branded gift box during their onboarding because: ?? Who doesn’t like getting a present!? ?? they need to see how our brand is properly displayed ?? they will begin thinking about what branded promotional products will resonate with our audience. So how do you make a great first impression with your new employees? #onboarding #newjob #employeeappreciation #knowyouremployees #lifesciences #firstimpression #branding
Join us in welcoming Paige Durham to the team as Communications Coordinator to creatively and effectively communicate the value of life sciences association’s programs and initiatives. Get to know Paige: https://lnkd.in/gtTXEwzE

Today, we've published our latest #DiscoveryDecade report, looking at how we can use place as a framing to build stronger connections with public audiences. Our public opinion research shows that people support local R&D, trust local messengers and often express local pride - so how can we, as a sector, build on that to tell better, more resonant and more local stories? We tested one way to approach coalition building in places, convening groups of stakeholders from the R&D community and local governments to develop example campaigns. These pilots demonstrated these organisations' shared interests and common challenges, as well as the benefits of working together to tackle them. The Campaign for Science and Engineering is thinking about how to build on this work and are really keen to hear new ideas for projects and collaborations. Let me know!
Strengthening R&D’s local identity offers a huge opportunity to connect with broader public audiences. ?????? CaSE's new report, People and Places: How to put R&D on the map,?explores how the R&D sector can use the framing of place to strengthen connections between the R&D system and the public. It draws on insights from CaSE’s landmark Discovery Decade programme, including extensive public opinion research and a set of pilot studies carried out across the UK in 2023-24, and from experts across the R&D sector. We plan to use this work to stimulate new ideas and collaborations with R&D organisations and local actors to carry out more place-based messaging in the coming years.
