This week, the Physiologist Team and I had the pleasure of participating in the Health event at Romford Nuffield for fitness week, where we offered free VO2 Max testing (Resting fitness) and valuable information to gym members. ?? VO2 Max is a crucial measure of cardiovascular health, and understanding this score can help individuals assess their overall fitness and the potential risk of lifestyle-related diseases. Achieving an optimal VO2 Max level not only improves health outcomes but also enhances physical performance. ?? One key takeaway was the importance of connected health. By bridging the gap between clinics and personal trainers, we can deliver a more comprehensive and holistic approach to wellness, benefiting our clients’ long-term health and fitness goals. My attempt at visualizing the relationship between #health, #function, and #fitness... What do you think? Does this make sense to you (or does it raise more questions than answers)? ----------------------- Backstory... One of my incredible advisors (Dr. Lisa Lovelace, Psy.D., L.P. of Synergy eTherapy) suggested I create an infographic to illustrate the difference/relationship between #mentalhealth and #mentalfitness... That really got me thinking about the importance of understanding #mentalfunction. ?? What is #health if not the foundation of function? ?? What is #fitness if not a result of our level of function? And if we don't understand or care how we function, then we put both our health and fitness at risk. This is also why understanding #neurodiversity is as important as understanding physical diversity --- to understand what each individual needs to thrive and optimize, to adapt and perform their best, to achieve their full potential --- that is never one-size-fits-all.
