Michael Smith, PhD, MBA is spot on. This deserves greater coverage. A highly trained scientist, with a focus on climate and energy now leads one of the G20 markets. Their gender should not be the lead in the article but it is. Well done Mexico ! #ClimateChange #HypeWomen #FemaleLeaders
With all the other news in recent days this has not had the attention it deserves. A scientist with deep knowledge of the energy industry, sustainable development, and climate change, who also happens to be a woman, has just became President of Mexico. This package is unprecedented overall, but she is also the first female President in all of North America. https://lnkd.in/gppiM5wd

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Win Malaga Chapter hosted an event this morning “Empowering Women in the Workplace” with our two special speakers: Sara F. Garcia Greenberry, EP Global Distribution Manager, Cat Financial Insurance Services & Eva Blasberg, EAME Strategy Manager, EAME Distribution Division at Caterpillar. Sara and Eva shared their experiences and testimonies on their very exciting careers journeys which inspired all of us, altogether with their humility. From all that has been shared, I would like to highlight two ideas: ·???????Let your results and achievements be what drives your career forward. ·???????Stepping out of the comfort zone is where the growth happens. Diversity and Inclusion are key Caterpillar pillars as Essential accelerators. It is very rewarding to review the successes we have already accomplished on women’s opportunities and gender bias, and reflect on what more we can do to continue driving the cultural change we desire for the next generations. On International Working Women's Day, I celebrate not only all the women who have fought to break barriers and stereotypes for a more fair, equal and inclusive society, but also all the men who supported them along the way. #WINatCaterpillar?#iamcaterpillar?#diversityandinclusion?#employeeengagement?#careerdevelopment?#womenleaders??

Achieving gender parity in mid-market businesses remains a challenge. Women still encounter many unique barriers and external intervention is needed to pave the way for more diverse and inclusive leadership. ? In a recent Gatwick Diamond Business Magazine, Victoria Symons, a partner in our corporate team, speaks about our recent report 'Beating bias: Fuelling female leadership', which spotlights gender bias and the career barriers businesswomen often encounter. Victoria said: "In today’s business landscape, achieving gender parity remains a pressing issue. Female leaders and entrepreneurs face unique challenges, from funding disparities to male-dominated networks and juggling the competing demands of work and life. By addressing these challenges, we can create a more equitable environment that allows businesses to thrive, benefitting everyone regardless of gender. We hope this report takes a crucial step towards understanding these issues and implementing meaningful solutions." Being a leader in Airfield Ground Lighting also means that we stand out when it comes to innovation, sustainability and... social equality. OCEM Airfield recently achieved an important result as part of its strategic corporate sustainability goals: the UNI PDR 125:2022 certification-Gender Equality in Organizations. This certification defines guidelines on the human resource management system, requiring the structuring of performance indicators (KPIs) aimed at enhancing gender equality policies in the company. We measure, report and evaluate the measures taken, with a view on continuous improvement. This is an important step towards our end to end sustainability targets. We care. We respect. We lead. Diversity and Equity in action! It's really valuable when leaders in their sector set trends and change mindsets, whether it's about the environment or equality. A happy employee is a happy customer. This axiom is hard to deny.??
We won an award! – or “nous avons gagné un prix”?? ??? ? Last night, the French branch of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) awarded us their 1st Gender Diversity Awards for Women & Men in the Maritime and Port Sector in recognition of our DE&I efforts. ? This award once again reflects our continued efforts to improve Diversity, Equity and Inclusion on all levels of our organisation, both on land and at sea - and we couldn’t be prouder. ??? ? The award was given to us due to our increased women representation in management positions throughout our organisation and the impact of our Waves of Talent programme – a female cadet programme set to increase the representation of women in our fleet and the maritime industry. ???♀? “It’s crucially important that we get more women into our industry, and we are trying to create an environment where women feel welcome and valued. Our female cadet programme is a great, tangible example that you can move the needle when you want to - even when the challenge is to change a +100-year-old, predominately male industry,” says Gemma Griffin VP of crewing at DFDS.? ?
