Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: When I started Phebe Girl Child Initiative, I was just a university student with a dream. Now? I'm watching that dream transform into a movement that's amplifying young African voices. 2024 wasn't just another year - it was the year our whispers became roars. This journey has been anything but linear. From managing administrative tasks at Rovello to diving deep into product management with HerTechTrail, each role has been a classroom teaching me about impact, resilience, and purpose. My highlights this year weren't just achievements - they were milestones of collective growth: ? Successfully organized our second Emerging Minds Conference, creating a platform where girls could speak without fear ? Started a new role at Rovello, proving that administrative work is a powerful form of support ? Expanded Phebe Girl Child Initiative's reach, touching more young lives than ever before ? Advanced my product management skills, understanding that empowerment comes through continuous learning Three posts that captured this transformative journey: "Voices of Change: Harnessing Clarity and Focus in a Distracted World" Our conference theme became a rallying cry for young women everywhere. https://lnkd.in/dcsRDwne "Maximizing My University Experience" A testament that growth happens when you seize every opportunity. https://lnkd.in/dbyG938r "Where Do You See Yourself in 5 Years?" A reminder that it's never too late to re-strategize and chase your dreams. https://lnkd.in/deFKz7Y8 Looking ahead to 2025: I'm not just dreaming about change anymore. I'm building the infrastructure for it - bridging advocacy, professional growth, and community empowerment. To every young girl out there: your voice matters. Your dreams are valid. And together, we're going to reshape our future. #GirlChildEmpowerment #MindsetShift #ProductManagementJourney #LeadershipGrowth #AfricanImpact #LinkedInRewind #Coauthor #2024wrapped

Connection – it’s a foundation for growth, both personal and professional. Recently, my family and I took a break to catch a film together, a small reminder of how precious these shared moments are. We educate our kids from home, so we get to do things like this in the middle of the week when there are NO QUEUES. But, apart from beating the queues, it also struck me how critical it is for children to form strong connections with adults in their lives. As Dr. Gabor Maté often says, children are meant to be oriented by and learn from their connection to adults rather than by being immersed primarily in peer groups. In a culture where young people increasingly turn to peers or screens for connection, it’s up to us, as parents, mentors, and leaders, to ensure they have that adult grounding. Real learning—whether at home, in business, or life—thrives in these relational spaces, not just within the structured halls of school or the rules of the workplace. The same principle holds in business. Building trust, sharing perspectives, and fostering curiosity make all the difference. Genuine connections—starting at home and radiating outward to our colleagues, clients, and communities—are what make life meaningful, and success sustainable. Our most impactful connections often start close to home and grow from there. ???? #KeepInTouch #KeepGrowing

WOW!! I fear for the people in the US! A prime example of how people in positions of influence not staying in their lane can have disastrous consequences! We at #IMUK (aka moi Ria Jackson) know sod all about politics to be honest, even less about America’s! So we don’t talk about it or really share opinions on it. Especially not on global platforms! Not that it would have as much impact as President Don Trump’s! (We have just over a 1000 followers he has the world lol ??) We do know a wee bit about neuroinclusion though! #AlwaysLearning #StayingInOurLane #NotAPoliticalPost #ANeuroinclusionPost This is exactly why we want to create a collective of professionals and individuals with lived experience to share their knowledge in one safe space #IMHub ensuring that the right information is out there! Real change requires a community effort to create a balanced, neuroinclusive narrative. Shifting from the generalist to the specialists, thus creating an approved directory, a collective, of real, verified and most of all TRUSTED voices and services within the neuroinclusive community! Moving away from the ‘influencer model’ and embracing something far more powerful: a model of shared influence. Everyone maintains their own IP and branding— after all neuroinclusion is about ALL of us not one of us! Seeing this kind of misinformation from people in such powerful roles and unbelievable influence—knowing there will be those who take it as truth—only fuels our determination further! If you’re passionate about real change and ready to bring your knowledge to a collective voice, please get in touch. Let’s use our collective voices to drown out this drivel! ‘Today the world changed, bringing with it a societal shake up, systems will fall and collectives will rise.’ (Quote by Victoria Hudson) #JoinTheIMHubCollective #Neuroinclusion #TogetherWeCreateChange

I have the same feelings! I am still in touch with my mentees from last year, and we check on how we are doing every couple of months. Mentoring is about people, so we talk about their personal problems, too. Sometimes, this is way more important than coding or career progress. Because if you are not balanced in your personal life, you can not be balanced in your work. #mentoring #mentorship #mentees #friends
?? Inspiring Mentorship Stories! ?? We're thrilled to share a heartwarming story from one of our dedicated mentors, Ken Pemberton. Here's a glimpse into his experience: "A bit of a feel-good update: I received, out of the blue, a Calendly request from one of my mentees from last year. We had a chat this evening, the first time we'd spoken since early December, although we have exchanged emails in the meantime. It was lovely! She just wanted to stay in touch, see how I was doing, recap what she was up to, and so on. We shared our news, I showed her pictures of my new kittens, and we talked about how families can be complex and frustrating, that sort of thing. Two humans, connecting as humans. Don't underestimate the power of what we're doing here. The mentoring programme is really important, no argument. But it goes way beyond that. We're building a community of people who care. There's immense value in that. Kudos to all of you for being part of this." Thank you, Ken ?? Pemberton, and all our amazing mentors and mentees for making this community a place of genuine connection and growth. Let's keep building and supporting each other! ?????? ?? On ??♂? Children’s Day, we take a moment to reflect on the boundless curiosity, creativity, and energy that children bring to the world. These qualities remind us of the fundamental values that drive innovation in the corporate world and help us build meaningful, forward-thinking solutions. We believe in learning from the young minds around us. Children’s unique way of questioning and exploring helps us see the world through fresh lenses, inspiring our teams to think differently. They remind us of the importance of asking “why” and “what if,” essential questions that drive our commitment to discovery and innovation. Just as children grow and learn, so do we as a company. The tech industry is constantly evolving, and embracing this growth mindset allows us to stay at the forefront of change, just as children do naturally. Children’s Day is a reminder to foster that same curiosity and resilience within our teams, encouraging a culture where everyone is free to experiment, make mistakes, and ultimately, grow together. Let’s continue to champion curiosity and creativity—not just in ourselves, but in the next generation, inspiring them with the power of technology and the possibilities that lie ahead. Here’s to the future and the joy of discovering it together. Happy Children’s Day !!! Techqware #childrenday #technology #IT #Techchampions

October 7-11, 2024 is National Digital Inclusion Week. We at Magnifying Minds are sharing scenarios many face in our communities. Join the conversations. Beyond the Basics – The Digital Use Divide For some students, technology is a gateway to creativity and exploration. For others, it’s just a screen that delivers monotonous drills and practice exercises. A recent study found that students in wealthier school districts are more likely to use technology in interactive ways—like coding or creating digital art—while those in lower-income areas often use it for more passive activities, such as watching videos or completing rote tasks. This divide in how technology is used in the classroom can have a profound impact on learning outcomes. When technology is only used passively, students miss out on the chance to engage in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration—all essential skills in the modern workforce. How can we ensure that technology is used to inspire creativity and active learning, rather than just replicate traditional methods? At Highland Falls Fort Montgomery Central School District in New York, STREAM teacher Kristin Magyar challenges students with hands-on projects like designing toys or building robots, sparking enthusiasm for STEM fields. Her approach shows how technology can transform learning when it’s used to empower and engage. Does your organization leverage technology to its fullest potential, or is it just a tool for passive consumption? #DIW2024 #CBusDEC #MagnifyingMinds
