Think early-stage startups can’t deliver real insights? Think again. Here’s what we learned from a potential user that changed everything. Yesterday, we had the privilege of speaking with Joe Moss?? who found the hidden “Book a Demo” button on our website. That’s right—he reached out to us before we even launched our MVP. The conversation was eye-opening. Joe’s insights reshaped our product roadmap, especially his perspective on peer-to-peer support and how communities are the unsung heroes of disruption. He shared how current players in the CRM space are missing the mark, leaving a massive gap for innovation. What stood out? His humility and genuine eagerness to help, proving that every user conversation is an opportunity to uncover something unique. Joe’s feedback reminded us of this: Your users are your greatest resource. Engage with them, even at the earliest stages, and you’ll find clarity in the noise. His point about community building? It sparked a question for us—and maybe for you too: How can we design products that empower users to help each other? We’re just weeks away from our beta launch and can’t wait to see what other insights emerge. What’s been your most surprising lesson from speaking to early users? Let’s compare notes. #startup #buildinpublic #productfeedback

If you're interested in the latest trends in the event industry, you should follow Will Curran. Here he is speaking at Event Tech Live in Las Vegas. Lots of good stuff in this interview, especially about: - The decline of content marketing's effectiveness (and why it makes creating spaces with events even more important) - Hybrid events (I'm also not convinced the juice is worth the squeeze) - The role of virtual events in relation to big live events (think of them as small satellite events throughout the year) While he doesn't mention "community" specifically, everything he says fits squarely with a community building strategy. (If you're pressed for time, skip to the 6-minute mark and watch to the end.) #communitybuilding #eventprofs
For those who couldn't make it to Event Tech Live. Catch some of my knowledge ??s right here!

Happy lunchtime to everyone out there in LinkedIn land! We are one week away from #CloudCon 2024! I have several different things to highlight today besides the jersey reveal video below. First up, let's talk about the last track for Day One, Talking Identities and Password Management with Chip Bowden (Yes, he hasn't updated his profile in a while). Chip is Senior Security Engineer for Corewell Health and assists in running several different important solutions in the identity space. Abstract: Take a seat by the fire (more like 'in the frying pan') as Chip discusses Human and Nonhuman Identity Management, the struggle for perfection, and lessons learned. Takeaways: - The problem with identities and more cowbell - How we're sometimes just an example of what not to do - That we're still in book writing phase of the industry Next up we have the final track for Day Two. In this one, Robert Wagner will be talking to the Cybersecurity Poverty Line (e.g. good security on a budget). He has the luxury of hindsight as he is seeing small-to-medium sized businesses making the same mistakes that large companies did 20 years ago. He is hoping to help attendees make better choices when it comes to maximizing their limited budgets. I really think that ending the conference on this note will be great, as it aligns nicely to the overall conference theme about stress and burnout. I am pretty geeked that we are almost sold out of the tickets and will be very close to reaching our goal of 500 patrons! In the meantime, as always, stay safe out there! https://lnkd.in/eNzaG8vY
We are one week away from the biggest and best #CloudCon ever! As you know, our Whitecaps jerseys given out to the first 300 attendees that show up have become a big part of CloudCon lore over the years. For our reveal this year, the CSA board took a boat ride because, well, it's summer and Grand Haven is a hard place to beat! Here's Anthony Coggins, Zach Goebel, Kenny Purcell, Joanna Udo and Molly Olin giving you a glimpse at the 2024 jerseys which we also think our the best ones we've ever had. For once Aaron Bregg and Matt Nelson were behind the camera and not talking! Be sure to get to CloudCon in time to get one of the jerseys, registration opens at 10:00am on the 22nd! And a huge thank you to Axonius and Wiz for being our 2024 jersey sponsors. We can't do this without our awesome sponsors!

An excellent event from Stacey Ebbs and the Threat Modeling Connect team. The cybersecurity field can seem daunting but the people here are always welcoming. We got an excellent accessible discussion for newbies facilitated by Dave Soldera, a fascinatingly in-depth process overview from Kreshnik R. and a robot dog! The newbie discussion focused on where to start and what to model. Software or whole systems? Assets or actors? and is really okay to leave out external dependencies? It was a great start to the London threat modeling meetup scene.
What a milestone—our first-ever local meet-up in London took place yesterday! A big thank you to our hosts,?IBM, our sponsor,?IriusRisk,?and our fantastic guest speaker, Kreshnik Rexha! A special thank you goes to our facilitators who volunteered their time to run the peer discussion sessions Dave Soldera Claire Allen-Addy CMktr Noel D. Petra Vukmirovic and Omar Sáenz Herrera! And of course a huge shout-out to all our amazing community members for coming along and making this first local meet-up a success. We look forward to seeing how these grow! Now London ???? is passing the baton over to Barcelona ???? for tonight's event! Enjoy!

I attended EntreFEST last week and as I reflect on the various presentations, I wanted to share a few of the takeaways that stuck with me. - Outsource the things that you don't love to do, and the things that will prevent you from scaling - Some questions are irrelevant (not stupid, but off track for your purpose) Improv can improve teamwork- trust is needed and it is fun! - There are no mistakes, only opportunities - Businesses should have a purpose (Mission Statement, Core Values, and Vision). People should also have a purpose and they are not necessarily tied to each other - Give people ownership to help unlock their potential Mike and I also presented a talk on how “Not Every Company Needs to be a Tech Company”! We were very excited about the response we received and I thought I could share a few takeaways from our presentation as well. - Your core purpose is the most important. You use technology to enable your purpose, service, or product. Therefore, every company is a "technology-enabled" company - Create a learning organization by using information and strategically embracing technology - Use technology to take a customer-centric approach to product development Thank you to EntreFEST for the opportunity to attend and the organizers for a smooth conference!?
