But guess what… it is also one of the BEST predictors of how well a student will comprehend what they read! ?? ORF can help you plan targeted interventions and support based on the student's specific strengths and needs in reading fluency. And you can use the ORF to track improvement in reading fluency throughout the year! ??? The ORF assessment is a valuable (and QUICK!) tool in your toolkit for monitoring and improving students' reading abilities. Welcoming New Teacher’s Today means getting to review the basic principles of classical education. My two favorite principles to explore in classical pedagogy are multum non multa and festina lente. Not only do they provide a counter to modern educational practice, but they help to refresh and excite the soul of the teacher!

Did you know we have a Professional Certification process for teachers? Do you have new teachers who need a crash-course on practical classical teaching? Or, are you a current teacher who knows the basic principles of “classical,” but aren’t sure how it all comes together in the classroom? This course is designed to provide a foundational practice in classical K-12 education that will change the way you teach. We have assembled some of our movement’s most experienced educators and asked them to build a curriculum for new teachers. Each course will offer takeaways you can use in your classroom which will help teachers understand how to implement classical pedagogy. The “Foundation of Classical Christian Excellence” series is offered each year with slight variations, but with a common syllabus, in conjunction with the Repairing the Ruins annual conference. Grammar and secondary teachers will be divided at times. For more information and to register: go to https://lnkd.in/gQEVvGVZ
