Good news, it looks like cost disclosure reform is having a positive impact on the beleaguered investment company sector after Fidelity Investments reinstated RIT Capital Partners (RCP) on its platform in response to the multi-asset fund now reporting zero expenses where previously it stated a 3.8% ‘reduction in yield’. In line with the AIC’s new approach, RIT’s key information document explains the company had an ongoing charges figure (OCF) of 0.77% of net assets lost year. It says that ‘for the avoidance of doubt, the OCF is not an additional cost paid by shareholders to the company’. The shares rose nearly 3% yesterday, beginning to make inroads into their 34% discount. Could this be the start of a rerating?

This means that new buyers can once again buy RIT shares via Fidelity,’ said a spokesperson for the ￡2.5bn global multi-asset fund.
