A+E firms often underinvest in Business Development. One of the takeaways from a stellar webinar, The Zen of A+E Practice Management, from Enoch Sears, AIA LEED AP of Business of Architecture. He mentions... "We can continue to exist in a state of scarcity, in a state of maybe not getting the right projects, or we can work out a systematic approach to be able to grow our network consistently." ...and calls out BD and networking as one of the top areas for firms to increase awareness.

This is a great example of how to apply the Digital Twin concept: (1) a holistic approach integrating context-specific social data and the natural environment,? (2) introducing an agent-based model, and (3) enriching a participatory process. The model digitally replicates the current scenario?by real-time monitoring of diverse parameters, whose interactions could be analysed for further potential. It provides a comprehensive digital platform that reflects the region's master plan and will be able to support decision-making on reducing major negative externalities in the city, such as pollution and social inequities. Just by reading the article, it looks great! I recently completed the course on Digital Twins for Smart Mobility at UPC School (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) in collaboration with Aimsun and promoted by EIT Urban Mobility. Thanks to the course I gained insights on a range of tools to cover the whole creation process, such as point-cloud scanning and data collection through IoT. Furthermore, it allowed me to understand the singularities of a Digital Twin compared to traditional simulation models, enabling me to critically evaluate this trend in transport and city planning. https://lnkd.in/dncFM29E

I summarized from the AIA SV Closing Keynote speaker that Architects are superhumans because the field is asking so much of Architects. Architects embrace Cognitive Science and Human Experience. Architects also explore Haptic Perception + Phenomenology in the 80s. Architects use the non-verbal language of space and material to communicate their design intent. Proof of Findings (1) New Hybrid Thpologies (2) Hidden Histories (3) Scoliosis-Eco-Techo Delight (4) Reverence & Reflection MVRDV is successful in the hybrid market hall and housing - This is what SF and other cities need.

CRP faculty Jocelyn Poe and Jennifer Minner, along with Architecture faculty Felix Heisel, are among several coauthors who recently published Embodying Justice in the Built Environment: Circularity in Practice. The guide and workbook seek to help policymakers, practitioners, and communities center justice principles while implementing strategies related to materials resource management, new construction, and alternatives to demolition.
