My small HR team is about to lose our VP in a couple of weeks, and the chatter around the office is pretty concerning. ?? Here’s the scoop: our VP has decided to leave due to a troubling pattern of lack of integrity and accountability from those higher up the chain. #HRStruggles #WorkplaceWellbeing #CareerJourney Hey folks! ?? I’m starting to feel a bit down about my HR role and it’s got me wondering—do I really dislike HR, or is it just the organization I’m in? ?? Here’s the scoop: I’ve been in my current HR position for almost two years now, and honestly, it’s been a tough ride. My company has around 200 employees and our HR team is just 4 of us—from the assistant to the director level. Despite our small size, it feels like we bear the weight of the world when it comes to accountability. Here are some of the challenges I’m facing: Scapegoating: Whenever there’s a termination, we somehow get the blame for hiring the person in the first place. Can we get a break? We aren’t even the ones making hiring decisions! ?? Lack of Trust & Oversight: Almost everything we try to do requires approval from our CAO (Chief Administrative Officer), which makes it feel like we’re not trusted to do our jobs. Micromanagement Madness: It's like I’m under a... Is My HR Experience Poor or Is It the Organization's Culture? Answers:? https://lnkd.in/gEWMpjuJ Let's Connect! Have you faced similar challenges? Stressed from HRBP Role Change? How to Thrive After Promotion? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gvpHrHqM #HRBP #CareerTransition #HRStruggles #RecruitingLove Hey everyone! ?? I recently got what I’ll call a “promotion” to an HR Business Partner (HRBP), but I’m really feeling out of my depth here. Let me give you some background: My role transitioned from being a recruiter to now an HRBP. While I’ve got the education, certification, and generalist HR background, jumping into a strategic position like this is proving to be a steep learning curve. To be honest, I miss recruiting more than I thought I would. My company isn’t hiring at the moment, which is why I had to take this new role. ?? Now, I’m struggling to find my footing and not loving it at all. I can’t help but wonder if anyone else has faced similar challenges. Here are a few thoughts on what’s been tough for me: Lack of Experience: Transitioning to a strategic role means I’m expected to contribute at a level I’m not used to. It feels overwhelming! Missing the Recruiting Buzz: I genuinely enjoy recruiting, and being away from it has made me feel like I’ve lost a part of my passion. Unclear Expectations: S...

In my recent conversation with an HR Director, she shared a story of an entry-level HR who performed excellently, but refused to be promoted to a higher position. The HR Director curiously asked why and he gave two simple reasons: ? He prefers to work on the ground with people rather than making high-level decisions, and ? He does not want to take on more responsibilities that might steal his time away from family. Instead of feeling frustrated and disappointed, the HR Director admired this entry-level HR for turning down a higher pay and a better position for his genuine love for the HR work and for his family. This admirable young professional dived into the world of HR fresh from college and found himself deeply committed to the people side of HR. He loved being in the heart of the action—sitting with teams, talking through their daily challenges, and understanding their aspirations. While many around him aimed for rapid promotions, he felt differently. His passion lay in listening, supporting, and helping employees navigate the everyday nuances of their roles. Over time, his strong work ethic and genuine dedication to the HR cause gained him widespread respect, and management started hinting at a promotion. But he was hesitant. He realized that moving up would mean less direct contact with employees, and less time with family. He didn’t want that. He explained to his manager that he wanted to stay where he could make a hands-on impact, helping people one-on-one, and he did not want to take on more responsibilities that will require more time away from family. His choice inspired everyone around him. By prioritizing his passion for working with people over titles, and choosing work-life balance over prestige, he demonstrated that success is truly defined by finding fulfillment in what you love. #HRStories #WorkLifeBalance #GenuineHR #HumanResources #????fitsguy ▂ ▂ ▂ ▂ ▂ Come & get to know me: https://lnkd.in/d_vy6qq

???? Why HR? ???? When someone asked me why I chose HR, my answer was simple: I’m passionate about people. My drive comes from putting people first and making a meaningful impact—not just for the business, but for every colleague I work with. Over the years, I’ve gained valuable commercial experience, leading a business and understanding its strategic goals. Alongside this, I’ve built a strong foundation in people and culture, championing Diversity and Inclusion and 'Colleague Voice,' which places colleagues at the forefront of decision-making. Currently, in my HR role, I’m honing my skills in employee relations—managing complex cases, navigating challenges, and learning how to prioritise and deliver timely results. What I find most fulfilling is the opportunity to connect with people across all levels of the organisation, from directors to part-time colleagues. For me, HR is more than a career; it’s about building trust, fostering growth, and creating an environment where people thrive. #HR #humanresources #ER #HRAdvisor #development #SelfDevelopment #PersonalDevelopment #recruitment #career #opentowork #CIPD
