Finally out - in this new Asian Survey article, we demonstrate that domestic politics in Thailand can't be reduced to a binary choice between pro-China and pro-US voters. It's a plea for depth and nuance, based on hard data... Great working on this piece with Petra, Alfred and James.

?? Intelligence Requirements – European Nationalism Nationalism is returning in several European countries, and it is highly likely to disrupt politics on the continent. Many groups are unhappy with the European Union and its regulatory impositions onto the daily lives of citizens while others are increasingly ideologically opposed to supranational organizations superseding national governments. These movements should be monitored as they will increase political risks on multiple levels. #Nationalism #EuropeanPolitics #PoliticalRisk #Geopolitics #CorpInt

Recently, on India's Global Impulse, I had the pleasure of speaking to Professor Salvatore Babones, Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. We discussed the upcoming US elections. The topics include: - The selection of Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. - The selection of JD Vance as Trump's VP nominee. - The characterisation of Trump's foreign policy as 'isolationist'. - The main issues(immigration, abortion or crime) that will define the US election. - The impact of the crime as an issue in the election - The concept of the 'Deep State'. Is it a fiction or a reality? - The key differences between Trump & Harris on the key foreign policy issues(Russia-Ukraine & Israel-Hamas war, China and Taiwan) - At the end, Professor Babones predicts the winner of the House races and the Presidential elections.
