Strategic Communications & Marketing I Leadership I Strategy I Agriculture & Food I Speaker I Business Coach for Women Entrepreneurs
Last week, I launched and made public, something I've been doing for 2 years. It’s something I didn’t think of as an offering when I started my business 5 years ago. But some things fall in your lap when you least expect them to and are the most beautiful gift possible. I’m doing something that scares the hell out of me in the best way possible. I launched my coaching business for women in business and entrepreneurs?? ????????? I’m expanding my business offerings to serve what people have told me they need for their businesses, doing something that truly lights my soul on fire, helping to make an impact in serving others' ambitions ?? I'm not sure if it's my upbringing on the farm, working in a male-dominated industry, my time in politics, 5 years as a business owner, or getting to meet the most phenomenal women over the last decade that makes me want to see more women 'in the arena.' I want to help more women ? launch, grow and scale your business, ? build your wealth (and not just in the $ sense), and ? ultimately create a life designed by you FOR you in your business/career #worklifeintegration ????????? I want to see more women entrepreneurs, more women in C-Suite roles, more women in business taking risks, sharing their expertise, building wealth and empowering themselves and one another to build the tables and be in the rooms we need too to be in to make the changes we want to see.?#WealthofWomen?as I call it ???? ????????? When I started getting inquiries from women in business a few years back, asking if I could be their business coach, I was humbled. That fellow business owners would place their trust in me to bring out their best, to work through challenges together from mindset through to strategy to offers and marketing, to give them the tools and systems I use, to share in the accountability to unlock their true potential to create a business and a life they’re proud of to make the impact they too are looking for. I absolutely love the clients I’m working with and have worked with. To see and be a part of their growth and their transformations and to see the goals they’ve achieved has been so fulfilling ?? It’s why I’m so excited for this next chapter as part of expanding my business offerings and getting the chance to go on the journey with more of you?? Visit https://lnkd.in/gbgi8YmM or message me here. I'd LOVE to chat with ambitious women in business who want to level up in business and life ????♀? https://lnkd.in/gbgi8YmM

Supporting One Another Why don't women in business support one another? Men support one another all the time. They boost each other up, they congratulate one another, encourage one another. But women, most of us don't do this. Most of us are petty and vindictive and shitty toward one another. Yes, we are 100% opinionated creatures, and there are times when someone just won't like you because you are who you are. That we cannot get away from. But when one of us succeeds, why do the rest of us get pissy about it? Why can't we just say congrats, be genuinely happy for someone having success and move the hell on? Oh, wait, because many of us have donned the "Bitch" persona and we have embodied that and everything that it means. But imagine, just take one second and think about how far we can go in the business world, regardless of where you work, if we supported one another, if we encouraged one another, if we were truly happy for one another. In my opinion, the whole jealousy thing is high school. I mean, I think it is... I wasn't a petty Bitch in high school and I am not one now. I was never one to be jealous of someone else. Now, don't get me wrong, there have been times when I think, how the hell did she get that promotion. But that is because I am looking at qualifications and skill level. Knowing that the person was not qualified, but obviously knew how to kiss ass the right way. It wasn't jealousy, as I had ZERO desire to kiss anyone's ass, but it was more I guess a disappointment in the corporate bureaucracy bullshit that is in every business in the world. But if we support one another, if we truly mean that too, imagine how the business world could change. I have made many friends over the years. I have made many acquaintances over the years and I have known some women that if I never see them again it will be too freakin soon. But even when the ones that I just personally do not like succeed, I am still happy, because a woman was rewarded in business. When I see them succeed, I see growth and opportunity and strength. Not that I don't see this with the men that I know! I know MANY MANY Men in this business and when one gets something that they deserve, you are damn right that I am congratulating them and truly happy for them. But like I said, we are lacking in supporting each other ladies. We need to step that game up a bit! See Your Strength Recognize Your Significance Embrace Your Opportunity [email protected]

?? Warning: About to get on my soapbox… THIS. This deserves to be shared... I love so much about it. But the part I can’t get behind is the _bottom line_. Boards need more women. Period. Because companies with diverse boards perform better and because boards should reflect the company’s consumers. BUT THE ANSWER ISN’T MAKING WOMEN JUMP THROUGH MORE HOOPS. Women don’t need more training. They don’t need an “accelerate program”. In fact, can we please stop using the phrase “board-ready” altogether. They were ready, they’ve always been ready. Instead, we need more companies to BE like E.L.F. Create space. Hire women board members. Proudly be one of the few with 2/3+ women. Yes… the math is not mathing. But the math isn’t going to change until more companies and investors fix the equation. Bravo ???? E.L.F.
Women are good for business. Period. Fact. E.L.F. BEAUTY’s board of directors is 2/3 women. Fact. There are only 18 public companies in the U.S. today (out of 4,200) with a Board that have at least 2/3 women. Only 18 !?? Fact. The entire universe of 4,200 public companies in the U.S. on average have just 26% women on their Board. Only 26%! ?? Fact. Bernstein research shows "companies with the highest percentage of women on Board have generally outperformed in both ROE (Return on Equity) and ROA (Return on Assets) over the past nine years." Fact. According to Citi, "Academic research has provided good evidence of a positive relationship between board gender diversity and firm value. There are also studies which have found that greater board diversity leads to lower volatility in stock price and better performance." ? Fact. THE MATH IS NOT MATHING. It’s time to change the board game. Fact. E.L.F. BEAUTY is taking action to “Change the Board Game,” and helping women and diverse candidates take a rightful seat at the table. We’re teamed up with the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) and we are sponsoring 20 brilliantly talented and diverse candidates to enter their “Accelerate Program,” designed to give board-ready candidates the connections, networks, know-how and opportunity they need to join corporate boards across the country. A diverse board of directors is simply good for business and good for the bottom line. So why aren’t more companies diversifying their boards? We’re on a mission to CHANGE THE BOARD GAME.

The challenges women in business meet Even though there is an increase in women in business, the challenges and inconveniences they face must be addressed. Some women keep away from their families as there is always denying and conclusion that they will never succeed and have been taken as a joke, so they also keep women away as they do not want to put them in prison. Some women work extremely hard and are forced to keep away from their families as they laugh at them, and if they achieve success, they will try to take control of the business. https://lnkd.in/edaXv-Ts A woman works hard because she wants to succeed. In some cases, even her partner will keep ignoring her all the time, but make sure that she looks after her when she finishes her work in her business. This does not happen everywhere, but in some cultures, this behavior from the people around is quite normal. Safely, she is determined to keep going with everything and has a strong mindset, she carries on. If not, she can lose everything in one go. I always appreciate their determination and how much they go through being undermined. They become more robust, develop a solid mindset to maintain patience, and work harder than ever to achieve success because they believe in the saying, "Success is the biggest revenge." It may be why most women entrepreneurs see success and keep developing their businesses.

Being part of this round table helps me reflect on the challenges and opportunities of being a female business owner. So happy to contribute to the conversation and learn from my fellow panelists and attendees. Personally, to balance all areas of my life has become a bit of a challenge, but the creativity that pours out of being entrepreneurial is priceless. I also feel that as women, we are better at using intuition during business, which is a plus when making decisions and not wasting time or resources. Can't wait to hear whaymt other female entrepreneurs have to say! #internationalwomensday2024 #femaleentrepreneurship
