?? ?? Happy National Human Rights Day - Do you know why the L comes first in LGBTQI+? ? ?? ?? This year, I want to share something personal to celebrate equality: my wedding video with my wife, Charly Rainbow. The audio speaks a message that we hope resonates with people. (Link: https://lnkd.in/e3m4Y_GY) Today reminds us of the ongoing struggles for human rights around the world. While we celebrate our love, it's important to raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community facing limitations and persecution. When planning our wedding, Charly and I wanted to do our part. Here are some sobering 'not so fun' facts we included in our reading during our vows: ??1992: Same-sex attraction was classified as a mental illness in the UK. ??2014 (just 10 years ago): The first legal same-sex marriages took place in England & Wales. Myself, at 23, never thought marriage would be possible. ??Globally: Today, being gay is illegal in 64 countries, with the death penalty existing in 11 countries. Sadly, advocating for these rights came at a personal cost. We lost and faced criticism from some family members over our choice to raise awareness on our wedding day. Prejudice?is a learned trait. You're not born?prejudiced; you're taught it, let's do our bit to make the world a better place and create a more inclusive world.

At a time when anti-transgender rhetoric and legislation are growing at alarming and dangerous rates, it is crucial that Americans hear from transgender people about their lives and how the current political and cultural climate can be harmful to them. Today, we launched “Here We Are,” a ground-breaking video campaign that shares the real stories of transgender people, in a time when 71% of Americans claim they’ve never met someone who is transgender and when anti-transgender rhetoric from politicians and some in the media continues to rise. Most Americans are exposed to trans issues through media-biased narratives. GLAAD and GROUND Media’s new campaign dispels these misconceptions to introduce Americans to transgender people and their supportive families who showcase that trans identity is real and that everyone deserves to be who they are and live safely. Thank you so much Joachim Stephan for your support! We all made it onto that list. The entire Swiss BCG team and BCG global. Because it is always a team effort, and I couldn't do any of the things I am doing without people supporting, listening, and being open-minded every step of the way. I have received so much support over the last few years. Before, I worked in 11 different countries around the world, and in 4 different industries. Never did I truly feel supported, heard, and seen. Rather, I lived with anxiety every day of my working life. Keeping my head down and a smile on my face. Moving forward. But always silently waiting for the next blow. Now, I feel safe. Even more so, I am encouraged to drive change, encouraged to support others, encouraged to make a difference. Thank you to everyone at Pride@BCG specifically and at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in general for truly wanting to make a difference! Diversity, equity, and inclusion are so important and I am beyond happy to have found a company which shares this belief at its very core. Thank you also to INvolve - The Inclusion People and to YouTube for putting together this wonderful list every year. Your support is worth so much and the simple fact that lists like this exist nowadays is a huge step forward in driving change and making our world ever more inclusive. #equity #inclusion #diversity #trans #transgender #lgbtqiaplus #lgbtq #together #mutualrespect #humanrights #bcg #INvolve #youtube #OUTRoleModels24 #leadership #futureleaders #PrideatBCG #LGBTQIA #diversityandinclusion #rolemodels #socialimpact #change #humanity

We’re thrilled to announce that Rock Trust has received funding from the George Michael Fund, made possible by some of George’s record royalties from sales of ??Last Christmas? ?? This funding is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ young people and will contribute to our innovative Rental Support Fund. The Fund enables us to assist young people in our tenancies with rent costs, helping them maintain secure housing or live independently for the first time. With this support, they can avoid or move on from homelessness, gaining the stability they need to thrive. LGBTQ+ young people are disproportionately affected by homelessness. Research shows that nearly 25% of young people experiencing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBTQ+, compared to just 8% of the general population aged 16 to 24. 77% believe that coming out to their parents was the main factor to become homeless. #EndingYouthHomelessness #GeorgeMichael #LastChristmas #LastChristmas40 https://lnkd.in/dn8HmRgh

Storytelling powerfully fills gaps that lead to misunderstanding and lack of acceptance. Here We Are helps fill that gap in a time when 71% of Americans say that they have never met a transgender person. There is so much to say about Here We Are - a powerful new campaign we are proud to launch today with GLAAD. For now, please spend some time getting to know Gio, Ashton and Nadya on the website - share it with your friends and communities and let everyone know that every person has the right to be their authentic selves, free from fear. We can break down the barriers of misinformation and political rhetoric simply by getting to know each other. Acceptance is easy - it's human nature.

I couldn’t see it better than the Independent Women’s Voice: “This is what AOC thinks about over 70% of Americans who don’t want men in women’s sports or locker rooms…” According to AOC, we are “bigots” because we don’t want cowardly DUDES who pose as fake women in REAL WOMEN'S sports just to steal their sports scholarships, records, and awards because they SUCK in MEN'S sports. We also want to protect our REAL WOMEN AND GIRLS from being badly hurt or possibly killed by these DUDES, especially in contact sports. For individuals like AOC and Jasmine Crockett, we are “bigots” — REAL WOMEN don’t have civil rights. The only ones who have civil rights are these DUDES who play to be FAKE WOMEN, and we have to tolerate and accept their delirium.
