In this episode of VOCAL SOUTH, I share my reflections from the Introduction to Peace Studies class. We kicked off the session with a balloon and toothpick game, asking students to protect their balloons. The result? Only one (or a few) balloons survived. What happened here? This outcome sparked a broader discussion on the culture of violence vs. the culture of peace. In this episode, I explore: ?? Gamification of political issues: How games can mirror real-world dynamics. ?? Reversing the culture of violence: Strategies and mindsets needed to shift towards peace. ?? Role of regimes or privileged groups: How power dynamics influence peace-building. We were young, we were innocent, we were impressionable as well as we grew, main influence parents and then school teachers as we started our "formal" education. Of course friends and peers played a big role as well, and we could all be rebels in our own way as we decided our own paths of self-discovery ?????? but education was giving us a base, a general learning on different subjects not encouraging us to be prejudicial against others based on religious beliefs or now the stupidity of gender identification, everyone is born male or female. Period. You may feel more in tune with the opposite of your actual gender, but that's OK, that's part of history as well and getting to understand yourself specifically. Cutting off pieces of your own body, or using puberty blockers is a whole different matter. It is physically changing Nature, how and what you were born with. Medical "advancement" going against Nature. Geoengineering going against Nature. Some believe this is perfectly OK, to manipulate Nature. Well, Mother Nature is telling us no it is not OK and the result? Chaos, man-made chaos. Nature isn't fighting us, man is fighting Nature thinking they are so superior. Wrong !!! We cause our own problems by feeling superior. Nature was here long before we were. Who is teaching children to hate? School boards? Politicians? Influencer's? Fudge, leave the children alone, let them grow, encourage them to learn about things that matter and will help them later in life. Do not teach them to hate, to feel more important or less important than others. This causes division from a young, impressionable age. Enough is enough. So much for the value of having school boards and Trustees who obviously are prejudicial themselves. They do not deserve the position they have which is to guide and teach children in good faith, without prejudice. They have failed, disgustingly.

Ever wondered why we’re seeing what we’re seeing with encampments on university’s property, hate filled protests on city streets, random attacks on innocent people, etc Well here is where it starts, your kids school Indoctrinating our younger generation by presenting a biased, one sided point of view. If this is happen at a Catholic school, can you imagine what’s happening inside a publicly funded school system? What’s happening inside college and university classrooms? Confidant: People we trust, 2. Allies: Individuals you can’t be vulnerable and open with but remain close and supportive of each other, 3. Neutral Zone: People who aren’t allies and are neither opposition,? 4. Opposition: They are allies and are neutral as they take a stand opposite of ours but important to stay in a community with such people and 5. Incidents of mass shootings in schools often coincide with students returning to educational environments following traumatic experiences. Harassment is a prevalent issue among teenagers, with 83% of girls and 79% of boys reporting such experiences. In 2021–22, about?19 percent?of students ages 12–18,?reported being bullied during school,?which was lower than the percentage who reported this in 2010–11 (28 percent). Retaining or relinquishing firearms will not ensure the safety of children. The inclination towards revenge diminishes as victims begin to perceive changes in their surroundings. Revenge is often rooted in a lack of change, where past grievances go unrecognized and no steps are taken to address them or are expected to be taken in the future. As parents, it is your responsibility to create an environment of peace and safety for your children. While we cannot alter the past, we have the power to influence the future.?If our children have been subjected to harassment, we should support them, provide unconditional love, and guide them in taking meaningful steps to address and overcome this challenge.
