When Boston Energy reached out to ARMSA Academy in #Paris in early 2024, we had little idea how seriously it took #skills development and #workforce planning. Since 2012, Boston Energy hasn't only invested £3.2m in technician development, spent 2.2m hours supporting their customers across 100+ global projects - this week, it invested in developing the senior team too! Recently the executive team rallied around a table to explore: ??Roles and responsibilities in complex renewable project structures ??Integrating systems of management and processes ??Managing international teams ??Strategies for safe outcomes and optimal organisational structures ??Frameworks for assessing operational design in high-risk tasks ??Tender specifications and resource/work design ??Leveraging safety as a competitive advantage ? Expectations like these are right down ARMSA Academy’s street. Using #IOSH's Safety for Executives and Director's programme https://lnkd.in/duD-rQP as a basis, decision-makers rolled up their sleeves and got stuck right in... ..and we are delighted with the feedback.?? 'The day has given me further knowledge and confidence around our complete H&S Business Strategy' 'It clarified a number of unknowns around legislation and also key skills and principles to put into play in real life situations' '[The delivery was] incredibly industry specific' Thank you team Boston Energy! ???? Smiles at the end of a tough 8-hour session were impressive. Wishing you every success at WindEurope 2024 -Hamburg and beyond. On Day 12 of our #Christmas2024 countdown, we celebrate the success of our partner, Cranfield University, which earlier this year was awarded its largest ever research funding win of £23 million from Research England's Research Partnership Investment Fund (RPIF). The funding is being used to develop the first large-scale #hydrogen research hub at a UK airport. A further £46 million of cash and in-kind contributions has been secured from industrial and academic partners. Cranfield is the only university in the UK which has a fully operational airport on its campus, and the Cranfield Hydrogen Integration Incubator or CH2i as it is known, is investing in new facilities including: - The Hydrogen Integration Research Centre?– including new labs for advanced materials synthesis and testing for hydrogen-based technologies, and a dedicated innovation area to develop next generation hydrogen pilot plant demonstration, electrolysis, catalyst development and green hydrogen. - Enabling Hydrogen Innovation (Test Area)?- an investment into test bed facilities, able to support hydrogen and liquid hydrogen activity, fuel systems, storage and propulsion systems integration. - Development of Cranfield Airport’s?infrastructure, increasing its capability for safe operation and testing of future demonstrator hydrogen-powered aviation. ERA and HyDEX are proud to be partners of the CH2i project, which provides a unique opportunity to rapidly develop and deploy the technology and infrastructure needed to demonstrate hydrogen’s potential as a technology for #netzero aviation, including production, storage and utilisation of hydrogen at scale across the campus and airport. Other partners involved in the CH2i project include: - Marshall - Cranfield Aerospace Solutions - GKN Aerospace - Airbus - Element 2 - HyWaves - Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK - GTI Energy - Siemens Energy - Heathrow - MCG UK - Equilibrion - Imperial College London - UKRI NERC National Centre for Atmospheric Science - UK Aerospace Research Consortium - UKCRIC - National Physical Laboratory (NPL) For more information about CH2i, visit: https://lnkd.in/dDFk839v #climatechange #energy #hydrogen #energystorage Midlands Innovation Midlands Engine Cranfield Energy and Power Karen Holford Helen Turner Dan Parsons Hydrogen UK Hydrogen Europe Chris Fogwill Jonathan Horsley Ron Corstanje Cranfield Airport East Midlands Hydrogen Midlands Net Zero Hub UK Research and Innovation Martin Freer Nick King

Panel 1 - How will the North contribute in making Britain a clean energy superpower. Sponsored by Chamber Patrons, Drax Group. Some key takeaways: Accelerate funding into regions like the Humber, Yorkshire, North West. Industrial clusters to be decarbonised. The North can be the home of clean energy. Managing connections with small business and supporting them in achieving net zero. Skills - need more people within the industry. Provide the facilities to train and convince people that it’s the sector for them. Long lasting and development heavy. Re branding the sector and making it exciting to join. Devolution to fast track all this - well placed in the north for this. Making the quick decisions on transport and skills impacting this agenda. Providing a single point of contact. #ONENORTH #Devolution #GreenEnergy #NetZero #Skills #JonCreation West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce

Hydrogen fuel cells are really making waves in the aviation space, and the investment we’re seeing is off the charts. ?? In 2024 alone, over $1.4 billion has been pumped into 23+ companies working on hydrogen tech across multiple sectors. Take ZeroAvia, for example - they’ve just extended their Series C to $150 million and are making huge progress with hydrogen-electric powertrains for zero-emission aviation. Meanwhile, companies like LONGi Hydrogen in China and Hysata in Australia are leading the way in electrolyser development, a key step in producing clean hydrogen fuel. ?? It hasn’t been an easy road for everyone - Hyzon Motors and Universal Hydrogen have had their challenges. But with serious backing from investors and governments, the potential for hydrogen to decarbonize industries, especially aviation, is massive. ???? ???????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???? ????????????? I think we’re closer than people realize. ?? #CleanTech #HydrogenFuel

In order to meet the world’s climate goals and build a truly green economy, we need to build new electric vehicles, wind turbines, and clean energy infrastructure. And we need steel to build them. Unfortunately current steelmaking production is responsible for 8% of the world’s carbon emissions (more than global shipping and aviation combined) and the expensive and inefficient process hasn’t changed much since the 19th century. That is why I am thrilled to be joining Electra, a climate tech company on a mission to decarbonize steelmaking. Electra is developing game-changing technology that uses intermittent renewable energy like wind and solar to replace coal in steelmaking production, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions in the process. I’m excited to dig in and join the team working to tackle one of the biggest climate challenges. https://lnkd.in/efFuu6h9
