Today marks 1,000 days since Russia launched its brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Yet, this war did not begin in 2022. It has been 3,918 days — more than 10 years — since Russia first unleashed its ruthless assault on Ukraine. It started on February 2014, with the illegal annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas. Now, Russia’s extends to seizing all of Ukraine. 10 years of war and 1,000 days of full-scale invasion. Finally!!! For more than two years I have been asking why Ukraine just sits and takes direct hits from Russia on the territory of Ukraine when they could easily do an end around by crossing into Russia from the northeast border of Ukraine and coming up from behind the Russian invasion forces where Russia has none of the horrible mines and other defenses it has on the front. Another Sunday - indiscriminate Russian strikes in Ukraine Poland′s outspoken prime minister Donald Tusk made it clear, after another bloodstained Sunday morning in Ukraine: "No-one will stop Putin with phone calls. The attack last night, one of the biggest in this war, has proved that telephone diplomacy cannot replace real support from the whole West for Ukraine." Prime Minister Tusk referenced the German Chancellor′s intiative to a recent telephone call with war criminal Putin. It did not mitigate any suffering. The morning′s bombing raids were vicious and widespread, again with children as victims. Who can draw their lives and aspiring future? Kyiev newspapers report: "Russia launched 120 missiles and 90 drones against Ukraine, hitting energy infrastructure and residential areas across the country in what became one of the largest attacks?during the war."
